Posting photos in flashlight reviews

Guess I may try to write a few flashlight reviews. How do I insert/upload photos on this platform? Do you need a photo hosting website for this, & if so which ones are good free places to put the Beamshots? Any tips on what you might want to know about the lights that I may not realize or care about myself? Plus, is writing review on here a good idea?

What's wrong with Imgur?

I like them, and think they're a great image hosting site.

@Porchlight:

There is a link in my signature on how to post pics on BLF.

What's the issue with imgur?

I see it used quite a lot on this forum.

Edit: raccoon city beat me by seconds.

I have been using imgur for a long time now and it is an approved image host for most forums. Not sure what’s wrong with it?

Actually, I thought of something I don't like about Imgur.

They rename your images completely, which I think it stupid.

I prefer abload.de, which lets you keep the first 21 characters of your image name, and then adds a bunch of random characters to the end of your image name.

That makes a lot more sense to me.

all of my images reveal my home address/exact location, time, date and the name is often personal. so it is a good thing they take that away when posting on a public forum.

reviews are a way to get free lights… go for it

an example of a reviewer whose layout and content I respect is zeroair

another reviewer I respect and admire is MascaratumB

imgur works fine for me, for hosting photos that I link to

.

gps location is turned off on my phone camera

true, by default phone camera configuration, photos have the gps location embedded

you have the option to turn off gps location data on your phone camera.

Also, careful when you upload from cell phone as the file is usually real big. Most cell phones will ask you if you want to reduce the size as you’re about to upload stuff. Hope it works out for you.

I use Irfanview to strip EXIF data, IPTC data, JPG-comment, and XMP data.

I don't really know what those are, exactly, but I get rid of them when I save any jpg.
