I havent been able to find those two data sheets anywhere online... only sft20, sft10, and sft colors.. The -40 and -70 seem nonexistent. I've looked a couple of time since ordering this light.

wow.. if you look at bottom of page #1 on both data sheets, in "applications" the first thing Luminus lists is FLASHLIGHTS. I've never noticed that on other data sheets before!

EDIT: never mind i see it says the same thing on the sst40 datasheet too...

also, looks like sft40 = 3v, sft70= 6v / 12v.

If this follows what happened to the SST40, here may be a 5000K at some point but not lower, and only low CRI versions.

I really enjoy the balance between flood and throw in SST40. I guess SFT40 will be a bit floodier than CULPM1, but I wish someone post a beamshot comparison.

Looks like the SFT40 has 4 bond wires. Not sure I’ve seen that before; a bond wire at each corner of the die. If that is the case that should mitigate the burning bond wires failure mechanism of the SST40.
