Test/review of Vapcell INR21700 5000mAh T50 (Red) 2020

Damn… any good alternatives worth considering?

If you need capacity, 50G, Molicel M50 or even sofirn’s 5000mA 21700s if you want cheap prices and decent performance seeing as how there’s a shortage of Samsung cells. 40T, Molicel P42A for higher drain. 30T for absolute max output with multi 50.2 fet lights

18650Canada has the 40T’s, but this T50 outperforms the 40T up to 15amps, which would suit majority of my lights…

Well I don’t see it being available in the next 3 months, maybe we’ll get lucky in 6 months or near the end of the year. There’s a major battery shortage going on right now. Check the typical American battery sellers. No stock of a lot of Samsung, LG, Sony cells.

Lets see if I can wait that long. Thanks for your input!

I noticed… Have they always been that expensive? Seems like a big premium to pay for the boost in performance over competitor batteries.

Yup. Nov 2020 2 pieces, AU$ 35.22.

Today, 4 pieces, AU$ 93.34 though I have asked for a BLF discount.

Do you know how much Vapcell does really pay for these cells? Also, do you know of any other place to buy them?

Particularly in these matters their strategy is to hoard and hog the product, and then place over it the price sticker they like. Of course it's not exactly like this, but they do feed out of your addictions. Are you addicted to having to buy the latest whatever, just because it @#$% extra performance which in practice you may not even notice without a measurement device or at all? Do you really need such a thing?

It's been years since I don't see any higher energy density technology. Comparing, for example, the Samsung 35E versus the muuuch newer 50G, there's absolutely no energy density versus mass improvement. What are they waiting for? Are they waiting for… Christmas? :-D

Long ago I heard in the grapevine that the oil wells were drying. And of course, they're dry. There were huge amounts of oil reserves, this is the reason things work. The Covid-19 farce is in part concealing this fact. But the clock is ticking. Do you think the cars of the future are going to be powered with this energy density lackluster battery technology? I know they can, they're selling you the extraordinary performance of electric motors to sell the new electric cars. But if we are to speak about their mileage or range, this cannot hide the obvious fact: it sucks. But well, this is another story…

This is a big increase. I paid $24/pair + tax back in November ($22/pair in October), now the same pair is $36 + tax, so 50% bump.

I'm out at this price. There's not even much of a discount with qty up to 10. They have to do better than this.

If it is Samsung cell inside, it will not go lower soon - nkon almost doubled Samsung prices in EU since end 2020…I guess Samsung and the other major brands benefit the boom of the EV.

Ahh, ok. Yes - nearly sure it's a Samsung 50S. Let's see what Dennis has to say, I hope??

These Samsungs here at 18650BatteryStore are still reasonable, accept hhhmmm, no stock

Recently, the price of batteries has gone up too fast. The unit price of Samsung batteries is almost twice that of the previous ones
The cost price of T50 is also very high. We have no choice but to look forward to more quantity and lower price in the future

Yeah,LG Samsung murata ,sanyo

K, will wait a while and see. Thanks!

Lishen cells right now are the value

In low performance? How do they do against a 50G, for example? All I could find were these: https://liionwholesale.com/collections/batteries/lishen

Got other sources?

Yeah, but some people don't care if it's not “top performance”. This is no drag racing, nor Grand Prix.

When a cell like the Lishen LR2170SD costs $4.99 versus $7.49 for the 50E (at liionwholesale), for people on a budget it does matter, even if the LR2170SD is a bit less good than a 50E (this is only a conjecture, not a proven fact).

If there's something I like about Samsung cells is their lifespan, by the way.

The Lishen LA 4000 mAh is their best high current cell (sold out). The others are okay, but if you want the best all around h8gh current cell, get the Epoch 5000 mAh ome. It’s a rewrap Samsung 50G. Lithium ion wholesale sells the Samsung 50Ev2 as a wrapped cell also. That’s runner-up.

This is a T50 review thread, the one that's costing about $18 min now? Ok. We all know what the Samsung letters mean. Value means low performance, and that's fine, but that's what it means for now.

I own 50E's, 50G's, and a whole lot more, about 40 21700 cells. There's nothing wrong with owning or buying 50E's, or Lishen's for $5, if it's ok with you, but appreciate the differences. Here's some tests I did a while back:

Can't explain the 3T vs 40T #'s, but it is what it is, at the time. May be from Feb 2019 or earlier.
