WildTrail WT90 - SBT90.2 1800m+ throw 90mm 3x 21700 With Texas_Ace driver

Well what I mean is, an internal short of a cell in parallel may become a short for the other 2 as well. When it is shorted internally, would it not then measure zero ohms between the anode and cathode of the battery? If so it will be like putting a wire between the + and - terminals of the non- shorted batteries.

Usually bad batteries open when they fail, which would just result in the two good batteries carrying the load. I have never seen a battery show an internal short…can that even happen?

Yes, that is possible, but also a risk with any multi-cell light.

The reason I said unless it is a catastrophic failure above is that if that was to happen, first it will be a dead short of the cell that failed, the other 2 are just collateral damage at that point lol.

In reality most cells die slowly by getting higher and higher resistance so they self-discharge faster.

I have done some really messed up poop to cells over the years and never had one just randomly decide to become a dead short. Had a lot die in other ways though.

This is not to say it can’t happen, it can and does but like I said above, if that happens you already have issues from the cell that failed to worry about.

All of that said, if that was to happen and the full amps were to attept to transfer between cells, it would almost assuredly blow a trace, spring or FET before it could dump too much power into the dead cell. Not designed for that situation but I have had melted springs save me from inserting a cell backwards a few times.

Like I said, I have never yet had a dead short in a battery, and have had many with an open condition. I think I might just remove the batteries from the carriage when not being used for over a day to be totally safe. Most of my lights with a carriage carrier have protected cells in them. If not, I do not store them very long in the carriage. That might be somewhat paranoid, but it will be no doubt safer. If such happened while holding it, the body of the light would likely let me know well before the cells vent.

Heads up, 18650batterystore has P42As back in stock: https://www.18650batterystore.com/collections/21700-batteries/products/molicel-p42a

I’ve opened a dispute with PayPal over the allegedly fake cells I received from a different store earlier. In other news, my SkyRC MC3000 just came in. I’ll try to report discharge test results for everyone.

My clear WT90 came in yesterday. It’s awesome, as we all know. I’ve already delensed the emitter and bypassed all springs. The deep reflector and gigantic MCPCB made the job much more difficult than I expected.

thanks For heads up on molicel P42a, I ordered up my 3 extra

Above is Partial post of mine…#699.on June 6th.

It is what is…a little frustration is building even though I know what to expect from previous experiences.

Mine has been in New Jersey now for 4 days….150 miles from me.

TA I will apoligize ahead if you are offended.

My little bitch is that this is Not Free shipping…$10 and its still following the same time table as other Chinese purchases that were Free or $2 or something.

My One week prediction from arrival in USA…NJ to me…which would be Monday June 14th may be in jeopardy.

It is out of my control….so I just wait…got my frustration out of the way.

Just fyi, my tracking status sat idle for days, until one day the flashlight simply showed up at the door - it happens. Even for China, shipping costs the seller but sometimes with Ali and others it's rolled into the retail cost.

Thanks…maybe that will happen today!

Honestly it sounds like it is stuck in customs which they have no control over at all. The only way to speed that up is to use an express shipping method that would cost $50-75 and I doubt anyone would want to pay that. Also those express shipping options generally have much higher Tax/Vat fees as well.

It is annoying but sadly unavoidable without seriously jacking up the cost.

Tracking states Cleared Customs on June 7th then picked up by…UPS MAIL INNOVATIONS that same day in Avenel, NJ…went from there to Swedesboro, NJ And been stuck there…4 total days in NJ.

USPS still awaiting item.

I would not put a ton of weight on what the scan says about clearing customs, I have seen packages say they cleared customs only to be scanned again later at customs many times over the years.

That said who knows what the issue could be, the list is too long to count lol.

It sucks but don’t worry, it is on the way.

Ive been following this back and forth, and I CAN TOTALLY RELATE lol...

But also, i will second TA here - I would put Zero stock in it saying that it has already "cleared customs." I have had them state that, then go back into "customs" allegedly. I have also had Alix and BG orders say they were delivered at my house, then the next day change back to they are in NJ waiting for USPS (that was a long day waiting to see if someone just stole my light off my deck ...).

I was most anxious for my light to ship, now that it has, i understand the lack of control and the waiting game of the shipping carriers. mine shipped 12 days ago, no USPS pickup yet, i havent been able to get a reading on parcelsapp.com in 5 days since it hit the US, supposedly.. but I'm not worried. i understand that the "reporting" of the postal service and customs and all of that is weird in this stage of shipments coming from china. I am just expecting it to show up sometime in the next 2 weeks (i am only about 200 miles form Avenal, NJ too). All will be good @Cochise334ever

EDIT: now, if it was a month of being stuck in Avenel NJ or customs, yes i would be worried lol.

I hope you are right. I talked to the United States Postal Service and they told me to call UPS. They’re the company that hands it off to the United States Postal Service. UPS told me the package was lost and to start to file a claim. They tried to blame it on the United States Postal Service and they don’t even have the package yet. So I’ll wait and I’ll hope that it shows up on my doorstep.

Yeah, a package getting misplaced happens way more then you think. It could be lost for real but I would give it a week or so and see what happens. A lot of delayed packages were “lost” at one point.

If it has still not shown up next week I would indeed start the claim process. Contact wildtrail and they can file a claim on there end as well.

At TA.

I bought it off of AliExpress what does wild Trail have to do with it if I have to go that Avenue? I couldn’t find any information on that company.

I’m just going to wait now. But if you could give me that information I would appreciate it just in case I need to use it. I would think UPS is still responsible. But I know it’s going to be a big headache and a bunch of BS between the post office and UPS if it indeed is lost.

They would simply be filing a claim just like you only from the senders side.

Things have changed a bit but when when I used to ship 5-10k packages a year they pretty much always needed the sender to be part of a claim. I think those rules have relaxed now but it won’t hurt anything to have them file a claim as well (technically it would be the same claim really).

I am Not clear on Who “They” are? WildTrail? Aliexpress?I have no info on Wildtrail who you recommended me to also file a claim?I asked for that info in my previous message.

I used a credit card not Paypal. I will wait until Wednesday then call my bank and have them get my money.

I am hoping it shows up…if not I will fight whoever I have to fight to get my $180 back.

I.lost out a few years ago when Paypal said I had to pay for return shipping to Banggood for a defective light….$70 to ship back.Never shipped it back…lost $100 .
…Thanks

Thanks for sharing your experience and giving me hope!

The other side of that is Tom E.and some others who live in Eastern USA already have had theirs for at least 4 or 5 days.I would think they paid the $10 shipping and used the same UPS Mail innovations.

Hopefully half the crew got drunk    and called in sick…and its just delayed!

I am not sure what your issue is to be honest? You seem far to upset for it just to be a late arrival of the order, I have not been able to read this thread as much as normal, did I miss something, is there something else that is upsetting you?

Far as I know at this point the package simply has not been delivered at this point and UPS said it might be lost?

This is a really straight forward issue, it is normally solved by simply waiting. Worst case you file a claim with UPS and wait a bit longer and then wildtrail gives you the option to resend it or refund you.

There is positively zero need to file a paypal claim, wildtrail will take care of you be that ship another or refund you for this one.

You will not loose your $180, that much I am sure of.

Let me know if I am missing something.

P.S. I have ONLY been talking about filing a claim with UPS, a paypal claim is completely unnecessary at this point. In retrospect I think you might of been misunderstanding me.
