LH351D 90CRI Spectrum Tests

So how green are new 5000k ones from Convoy?

To put his numbers into perspective 0.003 to 0.0035 DUV is about “average” for most LH351D’s we have seen but the higher end of his range gets into the “overly” green territory.

That’s unfortunate. At the beginning of August I ordered some too because the product page specifically stated SPHWHTL3DA0GF4RTS6 Bin F2R2S2, which I thought was the most desired. Unfortunately I have no way to test them other than to visually compare to my Sofirn SP36 5000K. I’ll have to do that eventually… I wonder if/when the old stock ran out and new bin started being sold.

I really appreciate when vendors specify the actual LED bin, but always have to question the age of the information…

I ordered the 1st ones early August, the seconds early September.

Since Sofirn sourced 2700K were nice I bough some more to put in some light bulbs, I also took one 5000K and 4000K to see how they test :

4000K :

thefreeman, work your magic and see if Arrow will reveal what their 4 in stock 90 CRI bins are: arrow results

I’ve never seen anyone able to get this info so you must have the magic touch.

Do you see a sales email on their website ? They have a contact form but I can’t find an email, I’d like to join a picture of the label, that’s what I did last time so that the sales rep sees what I’m talking about (i.e. the ”magic” ), can’t do that with the form.

Edit : Nevermind, I found it.

assuming you found websales@ good luck!

That’s the one, we’ll see if I get a reply.

Speaking of Arrow I see that they now offer free shipping to EU for orders above $50 like Mouser and Digikey (actually less since it’s 50€ for those two), a few years ago they offered free shipping with no minimum which was insane, they stopped because that was probably not sustainable, then there was no free shipping at all so I dismissed this vendor. But it’s good that it is again an option, and they do DDP incoterm like Mouser so no custom fees.

That’s what I feared with the large quantity available, they have multiple bins and I doubt they’ll let you choose from one reel with an order of a few pieces.

Edit : There is actually no detail on the chromacity bins except for 5000K (R3, R4, which are bad)
Re edit : ah no, ”M” means 3-step MacAdam, so 3000, 3500 and 4000 are all 3-step.

A few interesting pieces of info here but ultimately not what I hoped.

1) there is a different, lower, voltage bin (D2) in that one LED.
2) various brightness bins in the same CCT
3) “TM” “VM” “UM” not helpful in determining where LED might end up on BBL unless I misunderstand their specs.

So, what is the preferred source / part number for these in ~5000k these days?

I’m definitely not as familiar with the various color/tint codes as others in this thread but maybe these are a good choice for me to purchase a small pile of?

your link is for 4000k

here is 5000k
if you want to make the tint less green, you can slice the dome off, which also makes the LED about 500k warmer.

Anyone know what bin Wurkkos has? It’s quite good for 5000K.

Anyone measured spectrum of 3500k from Convoy?

I PM`D Simon at Convoy, and this is the current LH351D 5000k bin SPHWHTL3DA0GF4RTR6 F2R1T2. Does anyone know what the bbl or duv is of this bin?

In the datasheet page 10 , R1 should be similar to R2 but slightly higher CCT.

Edit : it’s one subrank flux bin higher (T2 vs S2), that can mean a worse tint sometimes (green being more efficient).

I got some but I still haven’t tested them

Dang I bought 4 of them, before I asked Simon for current bin.

Do you happen to know Simon’s current bin for lh351d 4000k?

No idea.

Here is one, bought June 4 2021, with the same beaded lens as my other measurements :
