XHP 100.2?????

I was browsing through the Flashlights on Aliexpress this evening and I came across a couple of lights claiming to have XHP100.2 leds. There isn’t such a led on the market is there.

It’s not from Cree, they just use the same “XHP” model to draw in sales. Same for common battery models, they’ll say 100% original NCR18650B, but they aren’t Panasonic. It’s just 100% original of their own brand

There’s the

Cree XHP35 HD
XHP35 HI
XHP50
XHP70
XHP50.3 I think coming soon and the XHP50 HI

They basically lie. They also claim to sell 99,000,000 lumen flashlights.

While true i am disappointed that they are not calling it the XHP-1000!

I'm waiting for the XHP-T-800...

In the USA, sellers have strict rules they have to follow, like telling the truth. In China the goal is to make better and better fakes. A business is successful if they can copy a Prada handbag better and make it indistinguishable from the real one.

In the USA if a business copies something with a patent, they get shut down immediately. Possibly get jail time.

You’re mixing things up. There is surely no patent on XHP name. There may be a trademark, I don’t know.
And are you trying to tell us that one can’t find counterfeits or misleading branding in the USA? I don’t think that’s believable.

You haven’t been to Chinatown in lower Manhattan. Everything they sell is fake. Business get shut down by BBB or dept of consumer affairs then reopen under a new name.

The difference between US and China is that in China this practice is encouraged. They not only copy the Apple phone, they copy the entire Apple store.

And YES, using XHP in your name suggests the product is CREE.

This is in China

!

!

The only purpose of naming an LED XHP something is to mislead the consumer.

I agree with that.
And I agree that in China counterfeiting is frequent.

But it’s not the case that USA = legitimate and Chinese = fake.
The truth is more nuanced than that. You quote fake Apple Stores - Chinese authorities close them.
And Chinese understand the value of brands. F.e. Lumintop. Take a flashlight like PIMI. If it was brandless or Boruit it would cost $10 rather than $40. With a bunny it’s suddenly worth 4 times as much.

I chimed in because I don’t think that artificially polarizing the situation is good.

Seriously? That would be exciting, and XHP50 HI could become a strong rival for the SBT90.2.
I surely hope that they will make XHP70.2 HI and that will definitely be a different league!

A couple of weeks ago I posted about a light on Aliexpress that claimed it had 998,000.000 lumens. Well they are amateurs in the fake lumens wars. Yesterday a saw a company claiming that for around 19 dollars they have a light with, ready!!!
1,250.000.000.That is one billion 250 million lumens. I since then can’t find the site, but I think the store name is “Light all World”.I thought that I saved the link or took a screen shot of it but I didn’t. If anyone finds it please post it.One more time 125 with 7 –0’s following it lol lmao.I harassed the company that was claiming 998,000.000 lumens by laughing at them that they have blocked me lol.

That’s too powerful, I don’t think anyone would need that kind of power. Also, someone mentioned, the human eye cannot tell the difference between 1.25B lumens and 1.0B.

Don’t anyone try to test this unless you want to go blind
