Latest release Vapcell 21700 5600mah 12.5A battery

I had two, one would not hold a charge. I may still use/try the other but will watch it carefully - I'd say 50/50 chance it won't last too long.

(quote) My order Vapcell K64 26650 finally arrived (order date: April 3, 2021 ; arrival date: June 11, 2021 ; a bit over 2 months is still acceptable for batteries considering the hoops they have to go through in the postal system. I have another order of different batteries from a different AliExpress store that is still in limbo… no tracking update for more than 2 months now] (quote)

My first order from the Vapcell store in Jan. took 13 days by sea to reach Manila from Taiwan. My orders on April 9 and 17 just shipped last week after 7 and 8 weeks when I found they had not been shipped and opened a dispute.

I want to be able to order from the vapcell store but don’t want to deal with shipping issues. I’m confused about how it works there. There seem to be different vendors and shipping charges but all orders seem to be shipped by the same person who seems to be in a little over her head to say the least. I’m wondering if there’s any alternative.

I asked for tracking numbers several times when I was waiting and got a few invalid (fake?) numbers but she never told me the orders had not even shipped. When I tried to use their tracking a Taobao page would open.

My worst experience with Aliexpress yet.

I hope so. I have PM’d Dennis and Vapcell on AE with no response so far.

No need to PM them - just request a refund on the order through Ali, that's what I did.

I opened a dispute in AliExpress system regarding the Vapcell K64, but no response from them yet. That was 3 days ago.
I suppose they’ll reply at the last minute (the AE dispute system still says there’s a few days left for the seller (Vapcell store) to respond to the dispute)…

I guess will wait it out, or maybe will PM Dennis.

Well, 79 (seventy-nine!) days have passed meanwhile and my substantial order (among them six K64) has still not arrived. This is my personal new record for waiting for an order from China. After 70 days they automatically prolonged the purchase protection period by another 30 days. According to AliExpress I am entitled to request a full refund for my order (75 day money back guarantee). I PM‘ed them. They asked me to keep on waiting as there’s still movement in the tracking history.

I start getting mixed feelings how the cardboard box will look like (if and when it eventually arrives) and what voltage these batteries will still indicate. I have worries that it will be held by customs, so I probably need to bring along a multimeter to check voltages before paying any import taxes for dead batteries, lol.

Dennis, if you read this: No offense but shipping via Meest Group seems to take an eternity from Asia to Europe…

Well Vapcell offered me any other batteries in their store so I chose the T50. They then said that would cost $10 more. I then requested a refund and they said I had to raise a dispute. AE will not allow me to raise a dispute so unless Vapcell can refund me without me raising a dispute I will have to go through PayPal. Disappointing.

Oh boy, guess I got lucky...

Getting a refund. I will wait and see

Nobody in their right mind would accept a delivery time of 3 months for the T50S. It’s madness!

I suppose that depends on which country is the destination…

A few years ago, I didn’t know where to source the better branded 18650 batteries in our country (I’ve tried a few different local vape stores, but they didn’t seem to have genuine batteries, and most do not seem to know how to check for genuine batteries since very few people know how to do so). Thus, I tried sourcing from foreign stores. Many stores do not ship to my country. But a few do. And out of the few that do, sometimes the shipping method does not push through (shipping/tracking will stop at some point and the package never arrives). I’ve been willing to wait around 4-5 months for the batteries to arrive, IF they arrive.

As long as the battery is in proper storage condition and is the genuine good quality, I’m willing to wait a longer time, rather than not.

For instance, I’ve been wanting to purchase 26800 batteries so I can try them out. Unfortunately, no seller ships 26800 to my country (at least not without a minimum order quantity, I found a store that is willing to ship 26800 batteries to me, but require at least 100 pieces quantity)… so I’m still waiting for a store that can ship to me the 26800 battery. Already waiting more than 1 year for that battery to ship (economically) so I can check it out…

Just get someone to forward you a couple. You’ll have to pay double the postage but it’s better than nothing

Just got a refund less PayPal fees.

At last, my order from Vapcell has finally arrived. As promised before, I report my observations here:

Order date: March 27, 2021

Delivery date: June 17, 2021

Total order processing time: 82 days

Routing via Meest Group / Hermes: Guangzhou, CN – Hong Kong, CN – Istanbul, TK – Amsterdam, NL – Berlin, DE

Scope of delivery:

6x Vapcell K64 6400mAh 26650

4x Vapcell S30 3000mAh 18650

2x Vapcell F14 1400mAh 18350

2x Vapcell M11 1100mAh 18350

Observations:

Packaging was alright. All batteries came in those black Vapcell pouches (2 pcs per zip bag) or inside a plastic case (18350 cells).

Battery type K64 S30 F14 M11
Voltage #1 0.25V 3.61V 3.88V 3.87V
Voltage #2 0.26V 3.61V 3.89V 3.99V
Voltage #3 0.26V 3.62V
Voltage #4 0.16V 3.61V
Voltage #5 3.80V
Voltage #6 3.73V
AC 1kHz impedance (measured via SM8124A) 11.2mOhm - 11.8mOhm* 10.2mOhm - 11.2mOhm** 52.7mOhm - 53.6mOhm 21.3mOhm - 21.9mOhm

* Surprisingly, the overdischarged state of the K64 did not affect the battery's internal impedance. The readings were more or less consistent regardless of its actual voltage.

** The general impedance was consistent at 10.2mOhm but the button top adds approx. 1mOhm, when the 4-wire probe measured from the button.

Verdict for K64

4 of 6 K64 batteries are dead. I will not even think about charging them up. I notice a substantial voltage variation between cell #5 and cell #6. It will probably take ongoing surveillance of self-discharging for these two cells to make sure if these are safe to use. High voltage variation seems not a good sign, though. Shrink wraps are more or less attached in a proper manner. However, they could be attached more precise, see pictures below. Batteries are clean and show no signs of corrosion or wear.

Verdict for S30

All 4 batteries show normal parameters both for voltage and impedance. All voltages are more or less consistent. I did not measure very accurately for more than two digit counts. Shrink wraps could be made more accurate and are not attached in a good way. There is a high risk that the shrink wrap will fall apart during heavy use. I found hairs and greasy debris on the outer shrink. One cell of those 4 shows signs of damage to the outer hull on the negative pole (rust-brown hole in the steel). I cannot judge how safe it is to use for long-term use in a flashlight were springs will cause wear and tear to that area.

Verdict for F14

Both batteries show normal parameters both for voltage. Impedance (approx. 53mOhm) looks rather high for an unprotected battery but it might be alright for a high capacity cell. Shrink wraps are well-attached and clean. No signs of corrosion or dirt.

Verdict for M11

There is a significant voltage variation between cell #1 and cell #2. 3.99V is definitely way too high for storing batteries. Since the other battery shows a more or less good storage voltage I suspect quality fluctuations on this cell. To be fair, it will take a longer observation to assess any high self-discharging. Shrink wraps are well-attached and clean. No signs of corrosion or dirt.

Dang you spent a pile of money on dead batteries. I hope you get refunded!

How much does an H10 weight?

3.88V is also too high, that’s something I have noticed with Chinese cells, they are often stored at high SOC, which is detrimental.

Just to share regarding my order of the 8pcs Vapcell K64. 1 battery arrived at 3.77v, another one is 2.1v, and the remaining 6 pieces are all less than 1.0v (0.15-0.85v)

.

I used the AliExpress dispute system, the store offered to send some other battery type.. unfortunately I could not see any batteries listed anymore in Vapcell's AliExpress store. It looks like they do not ship batteries again to my country (I was able to check batteries, after I set the "country" to another country that's not mine). Since I couldn't check which other batteries I may be interested in (ie. I couldn't properly determine the prices of "other batteries" that they can send as replacement, I rejected this proposal.

The next option that came up was to offer a refund for the 7pcs K64 (1pc arrived at 3.77v, and that was deemed as a "good" battery, so that "good" one will not be refunded. Refund amount will only be for the 7 pieces overdischarged Vapcell K64.

~~~~~~~~
I tried to monitor the 1 piece Vapcell K64 that arrived at 3.77v (I didn't charge this battery yet), but the next day, I decided to start religiously monitoring its voltage, and this is what I got.
start of monitoring: (I use a Fluke 117 DMM to check voltage, and didn't use the battery at all during the entire time)
day 1: 3.768v
after 1 hour : 3.769v (strangely it increased by 0.001v)
after 10.5 hours: 3.767v
after 24 hours: 3.766v
after 34 hours: 3.765v
after 49 hours: 3.764v
after 72 hours: 3.761v
0.008v drop in voltage after 3 days, is this still considered a "good" battery?
05.13.2021:
Is there any progress? Does anybody know?
I thought I was lucky with my Vapcell K64 26650. After receiving the voltage was 3.8V, after a month it was 3.7V. And then three more weeks passed and the voltage became 2.5V. Sadness. So be careful.
