[Review] ANENG V05B Digital Multimeter /w bluetooth & data logging

Stunning. Although it’s marked good to 600V but has a 250V fuse?

“$13”

“it has data logging which provides a in-app chart & CSV file”.

Edit: Can you share the coupon you used? Looks like it’s at least a $20 bill here in the US no matter which way you go.

I have not opened the device yet, but I wouldn’t use it for anything in that voltage area. Checked my power outlet and it works!
The test probes are rated up to 1000V and 10Amps, again, not saying anyone should use this device for that purpose.

edit:
I can search for the coupon I used, I believe it was a brand shopping week a few days ago and the price was indeed lower. The store should give you 1.00 dollar, the brands discount was 2.00$, and there were some form of select coupons. I also used a code which I need to find. Tracked shipping via DHL was free.

Thanks for the good review. This seems like a really nice DMM for automotive use, when you measure certain modules but are sitting elsewhere. your cellphone could show the measurement inside the app.

Can’t believe how cheap this is despite Bluetooth and that app with logging. Will order one tonight.

Excellent for automotive applications, yes. But also generally a good meter for all kinds of other uses due to the remote monitoring feature. Downloaded the app, it looks bad, but the pictures above show the real functions.
thanks for the pictures.

Thanks for the details, ordered two of those.
I actually have no real multi-meter and this one fits the bill.

very nice dmm, thanks fot the review. ordered and will report back once it is here.

hey - good review! could you tell us a little bit about the logging procedure, what the steps are, how it works, …?
would like to get this if simple enough to log with it.

thanks.

I have one of these on the way. from what I understand you can just save the measurements with one tap on the app, it saves everything in one file. That’s it!
very easy to use and high quality device.
Aneng is a budget brand but the quality and usability is there. this specific meter is ideal for flashlights. only the clamp meter part is missing, but can’t expect a clamp meter and everything else for this low price.
good device!

good find and good review, thank you for sharing.
will probably order it, because of BT feature and free app.
edit: ordered.

I’ve had real trouble sourcing a fuse for mine. The tiny tictac size mini fuses are not easily accessible, does anyone know where you can buy them?

If you can measure the length and diameter, and read off the fuse current value and voltage rating, then it should be possible to find a source for the fuse. Without this bare minimum information then the task would be hopeless.

These should work

Or these

these type are used in a variety of multimeters, just check that the current rating is correct. But 10A is normally the right one for a DMM.

start measuring, then simply click on the save icon when finished, name the file, all measurements will be there. It is 1 click to get a .CSV. very convenient.

Thanks I’ll dig out the fuse and put the calibres on it, but from memory it was only a few millimetres like 3.8mm. They go ‘bang’ when you blow one…quite an experience!lol

These are the most common fuses for China multimeters, I think. they fit most of the models I own, aboutg 3.6mm.

Thanks a bunch, I’ll check these out. I just opened my DMM up and put calibres on the little fuse. I blew the 10A/250v it also has the 600mA/250v. Anyway the measurements were roughly 3.6mm diameter and 10.6mm length. But given they have a little solder blob on each end the actual fuse housing is likely 10mm or 1cm. I’m going to check those you listed, they ‘look’ the same, fingers crossed!! That’s a really big help to me I gave up trying to find them, ordered some that were too big. I was mainly looking on eBay which I think was the problem.

They are EXACTLY what I needed, you have no idea how thankful I am. Dang forums are good. The AliExpress link was in French but I bought them in any case I got 10x10A & 10x600mA for like $5 delivered so I can continue to stick the MM probes into PowerPoints and smoke things up till my heart’s content! Now my MM will be back to being AC/DC instead of just DC. I’m so happy!

My Aliexpress always comes up in Hebrew or Russian. No clue how a huge company like this can’t store cookies like anyone else with language settings…

Glad the links helped you out. I also just bought another pack, who knows whether these will be available in the future. You can never have too many multimeter fuses!

Thanks for the detailed review, this is the perfect dmm for me. was looking for something like this and a mobile R/C tool box or the glove box in my truck. this one is small and lightweight. thanks.

I think a lot of these DMM’s have similar guts and come from the same factory despite looking physically very different with UI configurations. Mine is a NK-tech brand but I know it’s a rebadged UNI-T. They make great price range meter, I got a uni-T clamp Meyer, sound meter, thermocouple digital thermometer. I even bought an new exact same DMM as a spare as I could’nt find them fuses. I spent more on better leads/probes and alligator clips than the DMM itself which was like $14!
