Take caution if your dealing with the BeamMax store on Aliexpress

Hi all.I have been communicating with the BeamMax store on Aliexpress. I was trying to purchase a Sofirn sf22. Last week they said to wait until this week because there would be a promotional sale this week. On top of the sale they would give me a good discount code. So I waited I was given a gift box.I thought great. I first opened the gift box and it said sorry this gift box is empty. So I asked about it and they said it wasn’t a gift box but the top of the page said “You found a gift box. Ok what ever. The sale price is 73 dollars. So I asked for the good discount code it was 2 dollars after several times they said it would be a good discount. Two dollars isn’t a good discount. On their page it says ”buy from us now for 69.96”also there is a 5 dollars off coupon on there page. So I said give me the light for 65 dollars. They said they couldn’t do it,I kept trying to get them to sell it for 65 dollars. So they come back and said shipping would be almost 30 dollars. I asked what about the 2 methods of free shipping that is on their website.I never got a clear response about that. This is very confusing its almost like they didn’t want to make a sale. They were pleasant thru their messages, but wouldn’t honor what was right there on the website. I just thought I should share this with all of you. Jimo

thanks for bringing this up on here. This store sounds like a horrible place to shop for flashlights. Almost all my flashlights come from Simon’s Convoy store and that will remain like this.

I will avoid this store you are talking about.

I agree I have had great success with both Simon at the Convoy store, and Ben at the Mateminco store. The first time I dealt with Ben tang at Mateminco I gave him a real hard time but he was patient and kind with me and all was good. If there is such a thing as making a friend from a online store in China or anywhere overseas then Ben is a friend. It was strange the gift box wasn’t a gift box and the 69.96 dollar price with 5 dollar coupon didn’t exist. Then to try and discourage me the threw in the 30 dollar shipping fee when the free shipping was right there very strange as if they didn’t want to make a sale.

Yes, I have dealt with Mateminco, they have an amazing team!

If more people have had negative experiences with the shop you mentioned we might want to ask our admin to add them to the warning list.

Like I said they weren’t rude or disrespectful just didn’t want to honor what was printed on their own website. And telling me that the gift box wasn’t a gift box even though the box said it was a gift box was odd.

There are some really good honest sellers in China and like anywhere there are a few ratbags. Thing is, on the surface it’s hard to tell what your dealing with looking at a web store within a big store like AliExpress, B/Good DHL etc. We should make a list of well known/trusted people like Simon Mao who consistently look after their customers. I got burnt recently on DHL buying a MF01-MINI in Copper, it was listed as solid copper or I could have chose Brass, the pictures were clearly copper but when it arrived it was gold color aluminium ano! The seller told me this shouldn’t be a problem, I filed a dispute and had the option of returning it or taking a $20 discount. I took the disount not because I wanted too, but at least I had the light, if I returned it I may have ended up with nuttin. I told the seller Long07 to change the listing so others didn’t suffer the same frustration, he didn’t he replied sending me a smiley face and is still selling copper and brass MF01-m at discounted prices that are anodised aluminium. But recently I had a problem with 1 of 4 Sofirn SP31-P’s and after a few msg’s with Sofirn they sent a new replacement which was easy and headache free. I hate doing the dispute systems through the big stores, they grind you down with so many messages, evidence and tricks it becomes so time consuming and annoying it’s hardly worth the stress over a $50 light. So finding good stores that know what their selling and know how to do sustainable business is something WE should ALL value. No longer do I simply seek the lowest advertised price, finding the ‘right’ retailer is far more important.

I started messaging AE sellers before buying something, and in the last 6-12 months the translation engine has improved significantly. Turns out, the sellers are actually glad you tell them your concerns and they’ll normally give you a straight answer. Whenever I have concerns about a AE product I now text the seller and they’ll give you more information about the item.

My other hobby are slingshots and the material is almost always something that is made up in the description. When I ask for the item weight it often turns out the description is wrong and I don’t buy the item.

What’s a good slingshot to buy? Been thinking about getting one but get bombarded buy choice.

Simple Shot Axiom Ocularis, but the are expensive for what they are and if you lose one of those mounting plugs you can no longer shoot. Also, the plugs have to be replaced regularly! Many shooters say that Ocularis plugs are not tight enough and bands or tubes may slip. I had slippages many times and was happy I wore safety glasses and didn’t kill my eye.

Otherwise my personal favorite for both tubes and bands:

1) real stainless steel with surface treatment
2) works with both tubes and flat bands
3) comes in variants (bent, not bent, size)
plugs:

Please do not shoot slingshots without safety equipment, glasses especially.

Lol he called them RATBAGS LMAO

Bought! Thanks.

A little objectivity and patience helps with both the stress and the results of dealing with a product or service problem. Many of the customers can be unreasonable, untruthful, and abusive. I once worked for a sporting goods company and shared an office with the Customer Service manager and heard some wild stories. He eventually started drinking at lunch and got fired for blowing up at customers.

Good one I like the sleek simple design! I’ll check it out.
