The Perfect Tint

All you plebes fighting over tints and what CRI makes your yellow 2700K lights look the least like yellow and the most like red.

Illuminant E master race.

Multi-frequency light is inescapably plebian, monochromatism is the true patrician choice

I personally like 4000k sst 20 led tint the best for flood lights and 5700k for throwers

Are we in agreement this is a subjective question?

Very, give me the 219B in sw35,sw40 or sw45k. Next some of the SST20’s in 4000k and xm-l2 and xp-l hi in 5a2. A few of the LH351D 3500-4000k are not bad and the new fc40 is really nice.

5D2 is the ultimate tint.
I say this becasue i have one for sale :stuck_out_tongue:

That is above the bbl?

tint is in the eye of the beholder.

bbl?

Except the point is that “white” is not subjective. Illuminant E is the perfect white.

What about an xhp70.2 in 3000k. Does anyone have experience with that leds

For me the sweet spot usually is 4D, 4A, 3D, 3A… below the BBL.

Of course that may vary either way (cooler or warmer) for some emitters.

I DETEST (HATE) warm, & super warm tints. Hideous Blue cool tints too.

For a “dedicated” thrower… cooler is better as long as it IS NOT Hideous Blue.
:white_check_mark:

I seek 6500k and above and specifically love a bluish green tinge sometimes with some purple. No… my favourite is tint would be from my 3k xhp70.2 convoy m21c-u.

.

Too complicated
5D2

I prefer fairly warm white, but any warm white will do.

Had to do a Google / Wikipedia search to find out what is “Illuminant E”…

Looks like it’s supposed to be approximated closely to somewhere around 5455k color temperature, based on the above link, but has no actual color temperature…

Illuminant E confirmed

YES… or at least we should be. :white_check_mark:
