Lumintop Warranty ?

I have no idea if this is in the correct forum category or if any other member ever posted on this topic. Please read Lumintops warranty from their own website.

LUMINTOP NO-HASSLE WARRANTY
Lamps will burn out, batteries will be used up, and switches may eventually wear out.
Almost everything else is covered by our no-hassle warranties:

FLASHLIGHTS WARRANTY

Lumintop warrants our flashlights to be free from defects in workmanship and materials, including any LEDs housed within, for the lifetime of the original owner. We will repair, replace, or refund your original purchase price of these products, at our discretion, if it is determined by us to be defective. Electronics, chargers, and rechargeable batteries are covered for a period of two years with proof of purchase. Normal wear and tear (including lamps burning out, headbands and headpads wearing out, batteries draining, and switches wearing out) is not covered, nor is damage resulting from misuse, abuse, neglect, battery damage, use of incorrect batteries or accessories, or altering these products from their original state. Parts and accessories for illumination tools are not covered by this warranty

I might not be the smartest person in the room but it seems to me Lumintop will not cover any problem that might arise in a newly purchased flashlight. I am just talking about flashlights being covered nothing else.

In fact I tried to contact Lumintop here for defective ODF30 and got no reply - this nicely blends with the “NO-HASSLE” part. Good, that Banggood solved the problem, but I got a bitter taste from a manifacturer, who glues the lights all over and does not reply to problem with new light.

They do not answer to any emails. At least not ones describing any kind of problems with their product.

This is disturbing considering the FW3A

Well, hopefully it’ll be sold by banggood.com, they do reply and do refunds (that does require some persistence and patience though).

To be fair to Lumintop. All the warranty information that came with all my flashlights from Lumintop state a 5 year warranty that covers manufactures defects. No exclusions for switch, led are mentioned.

I’m fine with a warranty that only covers QC problems, but they should still return emails even if it’s just to tell the customer that they’re out of luck.

Sorry to revive a dead thread but it honestly makes me question the purpose of offering any warranty but go on to exclude almost every aspect of their flashlights? Scares me because I just purchased a Copper X9L Lumintop.

In my experience, they're kind of a pain to deal with if you didn't buy from Amazon (in the US anyway) and no, they don't seem to answer any emails to any address on their official website, but if you can reach someone they do take care of you...have to jump through the visual-proof hoops, though, just as you do with Banggood and others. I recently had the driver crap out in the ODL20C thrower that I've had for I think less than three years. I finally just emailed the Lumintop Direct store on Amazon and asked if they could help me somehow. Normally they are set up only to deal with Amazon sales and generally replace products directly in that channel without returns or parts. But the rep I dealt with really went out of his way to help me with a driver. Took some explaining so he could understand what was needed, but after a month of emails and missed callbacks on his end, he did get someone at Lumintop in China to send me a driver. That arrived...and it's the wrong driver. lol. I don't think I can make it work so I'll probably reach out again and see if they can come up with the right one...or possibly work a deal for a different current light model. For myself and a couple friends, lights bought on Amazon that went wonky were replaced very quickly with zero hassle.

Just a hunch, but I think as many Chinese companies adopted a more Western style of business and support to better reach and serve the vast market, they may have fallen short of fully understanding what all that means. Keeping the prices as low as they are, all things considered, and with most companies having designs or assembly issues that end up with a probable higher-than-pleasant failure rate, I'm sure it's not comfortable for them to support parts and replacements...maybe something they didn't anticipate. Additionally, here in the US we're used to most companies having parts/replacements available for at least the duration of the warranty period they had when they were sold (and in the auto industry they're actually required by law to have parts for at least 10 years...something like that). When a Chinese company discontinues a light, such as mine here, and there are no more of them to be had for replacements...and they stopped making parts...then it's a quandry. Lumintop isn't the only company to find themselves in that situation. So the 5-year becomes attractive for marketing, which they've adopted in spades, but actually making that happen seems to be a challenge. Sure is better than the typical no-warranty or 30-day guarantee and probably helps to sell more lights. But Lumintop will help or attempt to...if you can reach them. There's always the option to reach out to sellers, too, like I did. If nothing else they can probably help get you in touch with the company reps. Also, something I wasn't aware of until recently, it's typical for Chinese companies to put the onus on the retailers to support warranties...not on the manufacturer, but on the retailers. That's the complete opposite of what we see in the US although many retailers will handle it for you, at least for a little while, but ultimately it's the manufacturer that is responsible and whom you often need to contact anyway.

Well that makes me feel a little better as I did purchase thru the Lumintop’s amazon store.

Gee dude get on Facebook and message Victor! He is a great guy! Get on the lumintop family group they are good people! I have had absolutely awesome service and sales and have been very pleased with their products and very good to reply and have been very good to me. They like other companies that are innovating and turning out new products are very busy but will come back to you if you pm them off of facebook so they know who you are and not just some phony stuff wasting their time :+1:
