I ordered the Sofirn Q8 Pro, which just arrived awhile ago.
No printed manual is included at all with the Q8 Pro.
Also, it runs Anduril 1 (not Anduril 2, which is suggested in the item description), with firmware version 2020-03-18 (similar to most other Sofirn flashlights with Anduril 1).
I’ll try to get beamshots when it gets dark and doesn’t rain at night…

In Toykeeper’s repository, there is a BLF-Q8-T1616 and SP36-T1616 = I wonder if these models are already available (ie. SP36 and BLF Q8 that now use T1616 chip instead of T85).
 I’m in the “Anduril all the things” camp, but I would take a simple L-M-H (single click on/off, always starts on low) over a lot of the crummy UIs out there.
For your information: The final UI diagram for Andúril 2 on Sofirn's SP36 (Pro) and Q8 (Pro) with direct access to turbo mode (as in Andúril 1) in the Advanced UI.
You can check their website? AFAIK, it’s a 5000K LH351D with 90 CRI there. Some places might still stock the lower 80 CRI 6000K version from the initial batch. It seems like the perfect AA/14500 headlamp but the HS05 moonlight mode isn’t even _low _enough according to some reviews. I can just use a SP40 LH351D with 18350 tube so can’t really justify getting the HS05 except for the better UI.
I really wish they will just make a SP40 pro by adding a sublumen 0.5 lm mode and having USB-C instead of micro-USB. If they can move the top switch to the side and make a lighter/ smaller version without the rubber usb flap potential point-of-failure, then this would become extremely competitive.
Sofirn is already working on the SP10 Pro driver. Layout schematics are done already and being reviewed by gchart now. Hex-files for Andúril 2 are also being prepared by gchart. MCU will be the new Atmel 1616-MNR, assuming to be calibrated by factory in terms of voltage sensing and thermal regulation.
I want to say thanks to everyone for their ongoing patience and faith in this project. Very special thanks again to gchart and Tom E for their strong commitment and awesome support in making this flashlight come to life. :THUMBS-UP:
I saw that Sofirn released new SD01 Pro version of that flash light with XHP50.2 I really like the SD01 design and want to see e-switch variant of it with Andruil 2. Also SD01 Pro have option for 5000K XHP50.2 LED. I like to see same option Sofirn to release for Q8 Pro or version with cheaper SST40 or SFT40 leds.
Has anyone tried and can compare LH351D SP40*A* to regular SP40?
Which do you prefer?
Also, can anyone comment on charging port?
I have asked twice on Ali and their rep replied that the charging port is usb type c, whereas on pictures it looks like microusb.
Microusb port. The LH351D 4000K looks very good, especially with the replacement of the reflector with TIR.However, Sofirn is already putting on TIR on a regular basis, although it looks like the head mount has disappeared from the kit ...
have you changed charging port to USB3.0 - Type-C instead of USB2.0 micro on SP40A?
On product photo https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003349962516.html there is microUsb, whereas the aliexpress rep told me repeatedly, that it is Type-C.
Please could you clarify on this topic?
