Drat this thread, now I'm tempted all over again! I'm both clumsy and forgetful, which meant several lost or broken watches over the years, so I stopped wearing them half a lifetime ago. After all this time I no longer feel comfortable wearing one. But I do love the craftsmanship of a mechanical watch. The last one I owned was almost identical to this one, I think it's a beauty http://www.britishwatchcompany.com/watches-c104/mens-watches-c105/rotary... Can't really justify it, but I am tempted..
I'm looking for a non battery type. I get sick of paying $40 every time I get a new battery/pressure test etc. I like the look of the citizen eco drives. Not cheap though

yeah that's why i like watches running on CR2016, CR2025, CR2032. really low-cost cells available anywhere. i install the batteries myself, silicone grease on the o-ring, kinda like on a flashlight but a lot lot less
Both of them are roughly 15 seconds fast everyday. I have a cheaper model (see image below) that does much better at 5 seconds a day. I guess it's the luck of the draw when it comes to how they calibrate these at the factory..
Not bad for a low cost Automatic from a reliable manufacturer!
I have to seriously think one of these as a work-user / beater.
Lensman: If you tend to break or lose your wathces, there are similar skeleton-look automatics available very cheaply on eBay.
I collect 1960's and 1970's Rado autos, and this one has been getting quite a bit of wrist-time as of late. It's a Rado NCC 101 with the "Fish-Tail" bracelet.
I got a Timex Expedition today. My Timex Wrap Around nylon/velcro band arrived and worked out great with my existing watch until I noticed that the battery needed changing and I broke the watch doing that
The Expedition came with a similar band but it had metal buckles at the end and I didn't like the way they worked. This watch isn't quite as big as the Timex Helix (DM) dive watch that I had but it's decent and the "indiglow" night illumination feature works quite well.
At least I've now found the perfect watch band for me.
Sure... Feel free to ask any questions you may have. I have a few more watches than this, but these are the ones I wear most often.
Seiko 55 fathoms, 7S36 automatic
Android divemaster espionage
Citizen aqualand, titanium
Invicta Leviathan, Ronda 5040 chronograph
Invicta russian diver, Ronda quartz
Invicta pro diver, NH25A automatic, modded with Seiko hands. This is the watch I am wearing as I type. I have heard the newer ones come with the NH35A movement.
Marinia militare 47mm, sea-gull ST25 automatic
Swiss Legend conqueror, ISA quartz
Timex indiglo
Casio Marlin
Stuhrling Original, DG 2813 automatic
Seiko Frankenmonster, 7S36 automatic
Invicta Corduba, ISA quartz
Android TransOcean 52, Miyota 8215 automatic
Invicta pro diver, I forget the model number on this one.
Invicta pro diver 5017, one on rubber strap the other with OEM bracelet
Citizen Orca
Invicta Pro diver, miyota 8215 automatic
Invicta SANIII, ETA G10 chrono
Invicta S1 rally, tri-Chrono, Citizen OS-20 (one of my fave chrono movements)
Croton miyota 8205 automatic, I like this watch because the dial color matches Surefire type-III olive gray
Have you tested the Marina Militare (it's an homage I believe) in terms of waterproofness?
Can it be used for swimming or snorkeling?
I bought a MM from manbushijie last month and was wondering if it can handle "water" more than a shower or washing your hands!
I am not sure about water resistance. I have splashed it lightly, but I have never submerged it. I took the caseback off to clean out some dust and the gasket makes a nice tight seal. But I didn't pull the crown so I have no idea how well the stem is sealed. I also am not sure how well sealed the front and back crystals are.
one thing you could do is open it up, pull the crown + movement. Set the movement aside and case it back up. Dunk it and see if moisture gets inside. I have done this on a couple of my Invictas.
Is that a CRKT Hammond Cruiser with one of your Invictas?
Yeah its a serviceable blade. I pack carry it, too big to EDC IMHO. Good ergonomics for a medium sized hand. Its a hollow grind with a chisel edge though, a lot of people don't like chisel grinds.
Seeing how many expensive watches are put on display here. But then again it is Budget Light Forum so here goes.
My current Casio G-Shock. I never cared for the model number. Just the accurate time and many time zones and alarms + I need the stopwatch for my work.
I have had about 4 of these. Great watches for what they do and are. This one is 1 year old but you can see it is already beat up pretty bad. That is why I buy them. I live a hard life and so does the watches
Kramer, I love that Timex you have! Simple, reliable, and elegant. Which model is it?
You know its so CRAZY, when I post up pics of my collection on the 2-3 watch forms I participate its ALWAYS that Timex that everyone wants to know about. Its just so different looking, without being overboard or garish (as admittedly many of my watches can be.. LOL). Kind of a PAM cushion case... but not really. I wish I could tell you, but theres no model number anywhere on it. I bought it used from another forum, and my understanding is its a EU model only. Its 10ATM with a snap in caseback.
I have been meaning to put on a black 24mm leather NATO... just havent gotten around to it.
Love the Ga100 ......

my compass watches
L to R: casio sgw-100, timex, timex. sorry forgot the model numbers
favorite is the casio. stable compass calibration. but like all casios not good at night, stupid EL light implementation
timex digital doesn't have a pointer but timex NightMode is excellent for night activities.
timex analog. has a 4th hand compass pointer which can work simultaneously with the full-face EL illumination
NICEEE!!!

Maybe not as classy and quality may vary:

As far as I know, at least some Rotary watches use Sea-Gull movements in them.

Here's the one I keep coming back to. Picked it up off Ebay from seller Miltary Watches Mall.
On a forum dedicated to eeking out bang for the buck, I can't say enough nice things about his watches.

Is it an earlier version? The recent ones on ebay seem to have "V" grinds.
