FREEME ✌ ASTROLUX WP3 LEP 562lm 2952m 21700 Flashlight Group Buy

As a note- just low and high would be totally fine. I'm not asking for anything crazy, but strobe right after high is terrible. At least it depends on the UI, is it click and hold to cycle through? Is it click for each mode? Any info would be helpful. I'm about to press purchase buddy. I need to know if it's possible. Thanks!

I have not seen the light yet. They wanted a "tactical" nature flashlight so strobe mode is inevitable. Do assume it is Low > High > Strobe for the time being.

Ok, thanks for the quick response Freeme. I understand but just doesn't fit my need is all. At least there is time for the group buy for a couple weeks for me to decide. I really like what LT did on the Thor II, L-M-H.. now comes the decision making process. I really do like that 2650m of throw though!

This may be a silly question based on my low learning curve so far……. but is a tactical mode really a smart idea for a LEP.

What little research I’ve seen so far mentions that severe eye damage can occur if the beam is viewed directly at shorter distances since it is laser based. Wouldn’t that be counterintuitive to produce a “tactical LEP”?

my reasoning agrees with you here. a long range hunting light yes, a tactical "in the same room" light, absolutely not. but olight made a tactical LEP, so others will always follow suit even if it defies reasoning... unfortunately..

But the Olight LEP doesn’t have any blinky modes at all, I mean I hate Olight in general but I wouldn’t just pin everything thats wrong on them…

IF anything Astrolux already has “tactical” LEP’s in their lineup already in the WP1,2 and it worked well since it was on a rotary switch. This could be the grail LEP in the Astrolux line if it didn’t have blinkies in the rotation.

I did advise them to ensure Strobe is well hidden but it up to manufacturer and Banggood for final decision.

Many thanks for this. The more I think about it the more I can’t figure out in what situation you’d want strobe right after high and not hidden.

Freeme - Thank you

Souichirou. - you're right, i didn't even look to see what olight's UI was before i made that comment. I am just so upset by this strobe thing on the WP3 i wanted to blame someone, but youre right the WP1/2 both have it, BUT its on a rotary so its not nearly as bad. But this WP3 WOULD BE A GRAIL if there was NO STROBE.. its like this is essentially a W30 level light, but for sale right now, for under $200?! And Astrolux (IMO) ruins it with strobe unavoidably in the main UI.. i was wondering why not more people were clamoring over themselves in the comment to buy this, but I am willing to bet half the BLF'ers who would've bought this, are not buying it because of strobe. anyway, i will probably not buy it. unfortunately. i will probably just buy a new D4 & DT8 with these Nichia 219b's instead. who knows..

I completely agree, Atm I’m enjoying the Thor II that thing is fun though I hate how the mode memory still changes modes once you turn it off if turned back on within 5 seconds I do hope the WP3 gets the strobe locked behind multiple clicks or something then it would still be a contender for a grail LEP.

I feel exactly the same. I was pretty excited when I saw this, 1.75Mcd at this price point in a package this size grabbed my attention. Then I received the code from Freeme, went to order and checked the UI description first and was immediately disappointed. Strobe in the main sequence is a big no no. This just needs L-M-H, double click from anywhere for H. I’m awaiting a review to confirm or deny the UI. Hopefully they’ve made an error for the lights description, it wouldn’t be the first time. Hoping a review comes out before the code runs out!

Will double check with them on Monday.

Would it be too much to ask ASTROLUX/BG (or any mfg/retailers for that matter) for a demo video or prototype review before they start brokering/soliciting for new releases??? I understand the logic in determining potential demand for new products, but this is like diving blind into a concrete pool and hoping there’s water in it. Honestly, I’d be interested, but I’m having EA02 rollout flashbacks.
Please don’t take personal offense, freeme. The introductory deals you so graciously coordinate are greatly appreciated, but the kind of money these lights command warrants some advanced knowledge of exactly what the paying customer is buying into. In my view, that’s the manufacturer/marketers obligation to their customers in conjunction with new product releases.

Interested. My first LEP! Plz share code.

i agree 100% if we knew the UI and other key points about the light, you may have more people signing up. just a video demonstrating the light. 3-4 minutes. thats it. great call TIFisher

Absolutely, strobe behing multiple clicks would still make it a HUGE contender, that should be an EASY fix too, for the manufacturer.

TMaxxJJ-

I felt the same exact way, and noticed right before checking out too. im so glad i notcied it. i mean i could deal with it, but it stings to "deal with something" when youre paying $180, even if it is a great deal, its still a lot of money for such an easy fix on the mfg's part.. lets hope they can make a change since the lights arent ready for shipment yet. or at least theres a V2.. ill wait it out for a potential second discount code. Id rather pay $20-$30 more and get the UI im hoping for (L-M-H) or at least (L-H). Im sure other people would too. bunch of Reddit folks done seem to mind, which doesnt help us too much. No that its "us and them", but still.

Just ordered one, thanks!

Interested. Please send me the code.

UI clarified. Product page updated.

Single Click: Low - Medium - High
Triple Click: Strobe
Long Press: OFF

Long press to turn off… Literally the worst thing about my MF01. I’ve actually thought about selling it due to the horrible UI but probably won’t get much for it so not worth it. I’d rather have strobe in the main sequence than long press for off. My Nealsgadgets LEP is long press for off which I don’t like but it’s also long press for on so it’s not confusing.
