Why Sofirn has to have my email password.

I tried a few times to buy from their website.
Stupid things I don’t need. Like a 100 bucks.
Not even paypal worked without my password.
I’m I doing something wrong?.
Problem is my email has all my accounts open.
If anybody goes into it, my goose is cooked.
So no order and no password.
Cheers.

sofirn might want to contact you by email, but they do not need your email password

however, if you set up an account at Sofirn, using your email as the username, they will ask you to Choose a Password to use with Their Website. This password should NOT be the same as the password you use to access your email account.

Same with Paypal
They want to know your email address, but NOT the password to your email account
when you set up a Paypal account based on your email address, they ask you to Choose a Password for your Paypal account. This password should also NOT be the same as the password you use to access your email.

so youre dealing with Three different accounts… they all have the same email ID, but do NOT use the same password

besides, sofirn does not want to know your email password, nor does paypal. Their login robots are not going to try to log in to your email account… even if you Do use the same password on all the different websites you log in to…

does that help make sense of the differences for you?

if not, let me know if I can help clarify better

It is very common for websites to use your email as your login name. Once you type that in they all require you to choose a password.

But as Jon Slider said, the password you pick can be anything. It should NOT be the same as the password to your email account. Every website you register with should have a different password.

I also suggest going into your email provider and changing your email password to something unique not used anywhere else. Just to be safe.

jon is correct.

Ideally, all the passwords for every place that requires a password should be different. A password keeper app is invaluable. There are a few that are very good and can be used across platforms.

great suggestion!

fwiw, I used to use the same password for everything
then my email password got hacked
that meant they could come here to BLF and steal my posts… LOL!

so I had to change my passwords, here, and at my email,
now they are no longer the same
so nobody can impersonate me… LOL

elbakan1… Sofirn DOES NOT want your email password.

jon_slider & the others have explained the process to you very well.

NEVER use your email password to open any other online account…. period.

Good luck sorting this out. :white_check_mark:
