Having cut my teeth on the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Aretha Franklin, and Nancy Wilson (of Heart), I have long been suspicious of what I call the wimpy female singer. I'm talking about that breathy, too-soft delivery that I think is intended to communicate vulnerability, but instead comes across as a boring my-life-is-so-hard self-pity.
So, one of these girls is showing some of the signs. Might be a little wimpy! But the other one is well on her way to becoming a real singer.
For me and many people around, which are true fans of Deep Purple, Come Taste The Band (1975-1976), (not the best one) was the last not as much commercial album of the group.
After that “we get together to make some money”.
right now i’m listening to my wife’s song, “do this. do that” and after i do all of it, another song” you do not do anything , jut complain” she sings horrible songs. i wish i had a time machine. i know exactly what i’d do with it.
