FREEME ✌ LUMINTOP FWAA Andúril 2 14500 Titanium+CU★/ Titanium/ Copper Flashlight Group Buy >>> ALIVE

Glad you like it.

Got my Ti SST20 4k today. Noticed the Ti version has a plastic ring on the head that the aluminum version does not. It falls out if you turn it upside down with the bezel off. Any idea what’s its purpose?

My guess is the plastic ring is a decorative element.

By hiding the shadow at the edge of the star, it makes the front of the light look brighter when looking into the optic when the light is off.

@Freeme

I hope TiCu will start shipping today as announced officialy or....?

Please be patient my friend.

my guess is the plastic ring is to provide the ledge that supports the perimeter of the optic.

it looks like the Ti metal is thinner than the Aluminium…
the plastic ring makes up the difference

imo the inner face of the ring also offers a convenient place for glow paint;-)

Didn’t even notice that, you’re right.

That’s what I’m thinking. I ordered some of the paint you posted a while back. This should hold me out until it gets here though.

It’s a green glow gasket from JC Customs, he included one with all the aluminum FWAA he had as preorders. It not that noticeable during the day but at night it glows pretty good.

your Ti light looks fantastic.
as does your glow gasket

I would like a FWAA glow gasket, hopefully Neal will offer one.

Ive messaged JC several times, both using the contact form on his site, and also his posted gmail address. No replies at all. I do not use social media.

FWAA sandblasted Ti next to FWAA aluminum.

I also weighed them with a Vapcell H10 inside (measured weights include the battery):

FWAA Ti: 67.1 grams
FWAA aluminum: 55.2 grams

My Copper FWAA arrived Im enjoying it very much. I like the SST-20 4000k LEDs, they are a pleasant golden color, no obvious green tint… Happy

FWAA Cu: 91 grams w 14500 inside

Nope. Neal pushed back the shipping date to the 25th without telling anybody a few days ago.

Considering Copper / Nichia 219C 3000K.

Any feedback on that tint? Don’t have a lot of experience with 3000K apart from SP36 2700K & S2+ XPL HI U3-7A 3000-3300K

Just DO it!

My Cu SST 20 4k showed up today.
Beautiful tint.
I just LOVE Copper lights.

I cannot remove the tail cap to get the clip off … are the tails glued?

congrats I got the same light and love it also

I could not get the tail off by hand either
I used tools wrapped in rubber with the light wrapped in leather…
be very careful, the copper scratches and crushes easily, it is soft
there was no glue under the tailcap, no glue under the bezel either.

Im enjoying this under the bezel option for the clip:

the downside is the tip of the clip rides on the rotating body when changing batteries… so extra precaution required…

I just load thru the tail cap, easy peasy… after making the head tight first… I know, contrarian, but there is a madness to my method… lol

I bought the bundle, and with the sapphire lens on top of the glass lens, the clip fits perfectly secure under the bezel…

The clip is still a bit low tension, but it is slightly more secure, and a little bit deeper carry, with the clip under the bezel… the light loads into a pocket very smoothly, thanks to the matching taper of the body flare.
:

btw, JC Customs replied to my email, glow gaskets coming to his site next week

No idea about the CU version, but the tailcaps in the Ti version and the aluminum version are not glued.

I just received mine in copper and the tail cap comes off easily. Also it’s beautiful.

Seems like you liked this configuration

How did you solve the lens/o-ring gap issue? Did you add another one between the lens and the optic?

To use the clip under the bezel, without a lens gap, I added the sapphire lens on top of the glass lens

then I took the glass back out, leaving the sapphire lens in place, and moved the clip back to the tail, with body reversed (I like this best)… this is today:

Ordered a cu 3000k nichia last nite
Got shipping notice today!
