There has been some back-and-forth messages between Sofirn and the LT-Mini design team this week so work on it has started up again. My sense is that we should be able to get a product out sometime this year but that’s just my opinion.
FYI that I’m away from home until 8/2 so there won’t be any updates to the interest lists until I return.
Just buy one, the LT1 is a fantastic product in itself. It has friggen adjustable color temperature!! How many lights do that! Has Anduril firmware so you have candle setting, lightening, battery check readout. It’s build quality is great, warranty is worth the paper it’s written on & for $AU67 delivered it’s almost a no brainer. I’d buy it direct from Sofirn. I bought mine off Amazon and it cost more. I have about 50 different Led flashlights lanterns etc & the LT1 is up there with both my favourite & most used lights. I’m writing this under the 2700k candle flicker of the LT1 ad we speak. Sure lights improve with time and tech but the LT1 is great now last year and in years to come it will still be relevant. I am hoping DBSAR makes a bigger not smaller new lantern, something like 4 X 21700 or even 4 X 26800 cells, over double the capacity and more power say up to 1500lm or something. I’d be happy if it was basically exactly the same just bigger. It really is a top product just the way it is. If I paid twice the retail price for it I would still say the exact same thing and it would be worth every cent.
Actually, I wish we could go even warmer than 2700K with the LT1-mini and LT2 (the even bigger one). For a cozy mood illumination, 1800K - 2200K like true candlelight would be a great add on to the warmer end of the tint ramp. Unfortunately, there are very few LEDs only in that spectrum, LH351D is not among them. 4x 26800 might be too big in diameter size. You would probably need two hands to hold this monster. :D Moreover, these batteries are hard to source for manufacturers and even more difficult/expensive to replace by new batteries.
Yes, just buy one. I bought one and it was so good I bought a second. They’re great for camping, but I actually use mine every single night before bed in candlelight mode. Turn it on, set it to low for a half hour or an hour, and fall asleep. Even after weeks of this the batteries still read north of 4V. I bet only used like this it would go for months or years without needing to be recharged, although I always charge them to full before I go camping so I’ll probably never know.
