Musical Artists vs. Music in Motion Pictures

I do not watch TV at all, but I’m aware of “How they sing” crap shows. I feel the same way.
But… I do watch a lot of movies. Music in a movie is essential and must “fit”.
I didn’t ever rate movies by soundtrack, but well remembered are Pulp Fiction, The Rock, Natural Born Killers, Blue Velvet, Easy Rider, Back to the Future series, Trainspotting, Lord of the Rings and many more.
That music will last forever.

Mike

They’re different genres. Eg, I’ve got the “Dead Space” soundtrack, which is good listening, rather orchestral. Just got a Hans Zimmer concert which is pretty good, too.

John Tesh(!) has 2 good ceedees, “Pure Movies” and “Pure Movies 2” (1 is better).

The “24” soundtrack (seasons 1-3, another for seasons 4-5, again, the first being better) is downright awesome.

I’ve got quite a few “soundtrack” ceedees that are their own entities. Better if you’ve seen the movie (eg, “Jumper”).

The one for “Star Trek: Nemesis” is beyond words. Amazing…

“Regular” music is just that, a collection of songs released at the same time in one batch (ie, the album). It may be “self-contained”, even tell a story (“The Wall”, ferinstance), or be rather random.

A lot of my classic albums on vinyl, when rereleased on ceedee, often contain bonus tracks. All too often, those tracks just don’t seem to “fit” the original album.

In contrast, OSTs generally have that underlying “theme” connecting all the tracks.

Actually, about the “Nemesis” soundtrack, the physical/hardcopy/whatever ceedee version I got is my reference, as far as amazingness. Versions I’ve seen online <coff>, with lots more tracks, seems out of order, random, and completely disjointed. So be choosy over which version you’d get.

Some movies I can’t understand the dialogue over the music. Annoying.

I’m a Star Wars nerd almost entirely because of the music. I have the complete 1-6 box set and listen to (dare I say study) them frequently.

99.9% of the music I listen to will never be on Late Night TV —- I left .1% because I have seen Buddy Guy on a few times

You’ll are absolutely write a good musical score in a movie can be an Awesome thing — but to me rarely would I want to listen to it on its own

Usually, the music makes all the difference in a movie. Music plays a significant role in the film because it gives the tone and the plot’s mood. It plays into your emotions and feeling. Let’s take the Titanic film. You felt every emotion of the actors because of the melody. Now, all people associate the song “My heart will go on” with sacrifice and a romantic mood. All girls start crying when listening to this song. The same happens in the commercial video or when creating a travel video. Before the pandemic, I used to travel a lot. I have a Youtube channel where I post my escapes. People like my videos because I create the right atmosphere with the royalty free sound effects music.

Weird…. :white_check_mark:

Considering how we're polar opposites, if you think I'm weird, that's the highest compliment I can possibly receive.

   Take it however you wish.

BUT be accurate please.

I DID NOT say YOU were “weird”
I answered the question you asked about your “reaction”.

No point in you trying to dramatize my reply.

Your posts on BLF reminds me of a troll named teacher, except I think you're smart enough to not get banned from the forum.

Whatever…. I won’t even mention what your posts remind me of.

But what shocks/amazes me the most is that you apparently have not been banned.

While I think you won't get banned, I'm not sure.

What I am sure of is that you'll get banned way before I ever get banned.

I'm not stupid enough to get banned.

Did BLF member teacher (from Alabama, USA) actually get banned for being a troll? Maybe you are talking about another „teacher“ but I had come to know him as a courteous and decent guy but out of a sudden he just left the forum. Of course, there might be two sides of the story and I am just not well informed…

Yes, he got banned for being as troll (almost 2 years ago.)

Can you please enlighten me with some facts, if more appropriate via PM is also appreciated. Thanks. :)

Sorry, I don't remember the details.

If you PM Mr. Admin, he might tell you more, as I'm sure he remembers exactly what happened.

No, I won‘t be that inquisitive, bugging SB with it. Nevermind. It’s alright. :)

Raccoon, I am not gonna argue with you. What you wrote in your last post to me above is ridiculous. You actually do the things you accused me of. Nevermind… you edited that out.

You apparently think you can say & do anything you like…. and then if someone disagrees then you are suddenly the “victim”.
You come across as thinking your opinions are all correct & you can do no wrong.
It is laughable, it really is.

I have gone back & read many of your posts. Your MO is entirely predictable.

I did this after receiving a couple of messages warning me of the games you played on here.

So, giving you the benefit of the doubt; I went back & researched quite a few of your older posts.

The warnings were spot on.

So let’s just agree to disagree… OK??

If you need something to play with, go to K-Mart & buy you a toy.
But please know… I am not that toy.

Regards & the end. :white_check_mark:

Like most of your other posts, not a word of that is true, teacher.
