On the soldering iron. I just checked and the chassis is NOT grounded. Thus all the shock warnings.
I’ll do a review and do a mod to ground the case. Do Not use this unless you understand the risks.
Gee, a single wire inside the case could have fixed this (I think).
I found a few of the settings. But this one is not in the same class as the $80 PID soldering irons. The main difference being the display that give basically no information other than the temperature.
Still for $17-$20? Cheap, or cheaper than a typical soldering pencil. But it needs a safety mod.
All the Best,
Jeff
Just got one of these large desk lamps
$21 with the Vipon code. Click the above picture to go to Vipon. It’s been coming and going at Vipon.
I cannot detect any visible flicker and I don’t see any banding on my Pixel 4XL camera which is horribly sensitive to flicker.
The controls work well, but they are invisible in a dark room and they have zero tactile feedback. You can’t feel the controls so you have to turn on a flashlight to see them
Also, if the lamp head is too close to the top of my monitors, the light causes a glare and washes out the top edge of the displays. Moving it a bit higher, and forward, fixes the issue.
Best computer desk/work table I’ve ever had. Height is adjustable. Got it a couple months ago at Home Depot
And Harbor Freight has a bunch of magnetic accessories for their roll around toolboxes that work great on this workbench: power strip, screwdriver holder/tray, magnetic hooks, etc. I have one of the trays stuck on the back of my bench holding the power adapters for my monitors and laptops so they aren’t just hanging down to the floor.
Here’s a fantastic deal!
I just received mine and it’s probably comparable to Geek Aire’s 12” model. Phenomenal output for its size and being rechargeable.
Taotronics 12” rechargeable fan ($129 on Taotronics site) for $45 total after 40% off clickable coupon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0987Q2Y1K/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_ZGBNGTATEPP0AMGYFAFF
