Armytek has a new 21700 4000-lumen headllight

Yeah… but you can still buy a KR1vn 90sbt red + the armytek on your head so you will have white light and red light

Xhp70 will be very floody
4000L will overheat very quickly.

I think the 18650 models are a much better option for most situations.

Correction. Armytek WARM 3720 lumen. Nobody should be buying the cool model. I rarely need the headlight for more than a few hours so the larger size and larger battery don’t appeal to me. I’m sure in some jobs or environments you want longer run times or you don’t want to have to charge it as often. I am wondering if it’ll sustain 800+ lumens.

yeah but only 5000K and 6500K option :confounded:

I just keep coming back to the old line in the song “hold your head up”. Some 18650 lights are heavy enough for long duration, I can’t imagine a 21700 headlamp being comfortable.

4000lm?

How long can you wear it before branding the Armytek logo into your forehead?

When we were building out house I ran into many times where I needed 3 18650 batteries to finish the work. Under the house running black pipe. Same running water lines. Same running electricity. Same during floor insulation. Same running wires and insulation in attic.

Also times where I had to work on vehicles after work. Gets dark early here in winter time.

I guess you could just carry extra 18650s in your pocket like I did. Usually I just switch headlamps to a fresh charged lamp. I have about 10 headlamps.

Yep you are right. Ace only gave you 50L red, no firefly. Also same for green. Not sure why manuf’s cant get it right. If using red victim is trying to save eyes for night viz. User does NOT want turbo red, user wants firfly red .3L.

Well…I like the concept. Especially in light of 21700 being a format on the edge of development, still.

If, after turbo time it can sustain nearly 1000 lumens then that’s worth something.

Will wait until sustainable lumens tests are done and decide.

Didn’t buy the C2 since already had the previous generation of latest wizards, but am tempted by this light.

The regular 18650 wizard with xhp50 has more throw at half the lumens.

Since eyes adjust and perceive light against intensity, you will need to run this model twice as bright as the regular 18650 wizard to perceive light more or less equal in brightness.

Taking the above into consideration, the 21700 added capacity will be depleted faster than the 18650 at an equivalent intensity.

I think this model will be useful because one would want floodier than the xhp50 version. I personally find the 18650 xhp50 already too floody, and usually use my Skilhunt h04 moded with quad e17a because it has a more useful beam with added intensity, and still plenty of flood.

Lol, also, isn’t there a radiation factor? I mean, it’s pretty much an inch from your brain.

I find that the red isn’t bright enough on most headlamps - usually around 5 lumen. Would like to see a T shaped head lamp with at least 30lm Red, plus an efficient high CRI main emitter such as a LH351D.

In what situation would you use Red instead of white above 5 lumens?

Bugs white vs red.

Bugs, fog, mist, rain, snow are all good uses for red. But not just a little low lumen red like for map reading. Recently released. Wizard C2 WR available in white and warm. The original Wizard WR was only about a year old. I don’t see that this new big one needs red as is as it’s already going to be sold in smaller numbers.

Very cool, thank you for sharing

This is one reason why my WR is my main light for hiking and other outdoor activities.

This is also a “Pro” and they’ve never done a WR Pro, probably due to the extra complications that multiple emitters would create for the UI. That said, if they did a C2 WR Max or even a C2 WR Nichia, I would probably buy it. I don’t see enough reason to upgrade from the WR to the C2 WR though. I doubt the WR Nichia will ever happen, though the Max could. I wouldn’t be surprised if they expand this line.

WR and C2 WR on blinking red mode make excellent rear bike lights.
I’ve got the warm in the new C2 has a nice rosy glow.
Also picked up the Pro C2 Max, warm is really nice, which throttles down visibly after 10 seconds.
It is much bigger than the 18650 model.
Dwarfs my PL47.
Armytek warm lights with the bigger TIR makes for a nice headlamp.

Seems like it stabilizes at 900lm, not bad but it won’t throw any usable light beyond 5ft

Turbo2 4000 lm/3 h 15 min (900 lm after 50 sec)
Turbo1 1300 lm/3 h 20 min (900 lm after 12 min)

So $1.266/gram
Or $574.05/lb :money_mouth_face:

Its not just bugs. If you need to treat your chickens at night or trim their wings or do a vet inspection. The red wont disturb them and have them flying all over kicking up poop dust you have to breather. Also if you have ever been in a coral at night working on horses or beef cattle you do NOT want to spook them with a bright white light. They can see you with red and dont spook like they do with white. First and last time I ever used white around a 900lb steer was when the animal tried to stomp my face into the ground as it got spooked. Yikes!
