Which movie did you watch lastֻ

Watched it last night. Entertaining, plus I like Yvonne Strahovski.

Unfortunately, my kid was sleeping in the next room, so I couldn’t turn up the home theater too high - I’m sure it would have been fun. I might have to rewatch it during daytime.

I saw Final Destination 3 (2006).

This movie is worse than Part 1.

Part 3 has "clues" that Parts 1 and 2 didn't have, and those clues are kinda stupid.

There are also some other parts of the film that are stupid.

Even though Parts 1 and 2 aren't all that great, I say skip Part 3 as it's the worst of the 3.

Shark! from 1969.
Burt Reynolds.

Plex had lots of shark movies for free streaming.
i picked this one because: During production, one of the film’s stuntmen,
Jose Marco, was attacked and killed on camera by a white shark that broke through protective netting.

really, it was not even worth it for free.

Wrath of Man
Implausible gun antics, but good action throughout the whole move.
Good sound track, good acting. Liked it.
All the Best,
Jeff

The Last Samurai (2003)

Pretty good movie. Nice score by Hans Zimmer.

Saw Terminator, Dark Fate.

Awful.

Just awful. Waste of time. I had a feeling it wasn’t going to work out within the first 30 mins… I wish I’d listened to my instincts. This franchise is “terminated.”

Great movie, despite Tom Cruise. He’s actually pretty good in this. I loved the premise and found the cinematography wonderful.

ok.
“Last” theme.

favorite lines:
Maj. Heyward: You there, Scout! We must rest soon, the women are tired.
Magua: No, two leagues, better water. We stop there.
Maj. Heyward: No, we’ll stop in the glade just ahead. When the ladies are rested, we will proceed. Do you understand?
Magua: [speaking Huron] Magua understands that the white man is a dog to his women. When they are tired, he puts down his tomahawk to feed their laziness.
Maj. Heyward: Excuse me, what did you say?
Magua: Magua said… he understands English very well.

The Dig (2018)

https://https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDXyETsCSyA

A bit slow at times, but not bad if you like indy mysteries/thrillers. Ending is strange and unexpected.

Blood red sky on Netflix, good movie!

Jim Jarmusch night.
Mystery Train 1989

Night on earth 1991

Permanent Vacation 1980

Odd… there was another movie called “”The Dig”:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dig\_(2021_film),” but made in 2021.

if want some major Weird in your movies….El Topo.

the best review i saw about it says:
it is a combination Alice in Wonderland/Clint Eastwood movie.

anyway, i went down that “rabbit hole” because of the New Dune Movie.
(i did not like the Dune book or the old movie) i did not know that
Alejandro Jodorowsky tried to do a Dune movie back in 1974.
well, it did not get made, but a documentary of trying
to make it did: Jodorowsky’s Dune.

as a result, i looked up his other movies and clicked on El Topo.

Jodorowsky’s Dune was pretty good.

I also liked Dune (1984).

I'm hoping that the new Dune movie will be at least decent.

Eventually, I'll watch El Topo, but I don't know when.

...

By the way, if you want to see a weird movie by Alejandro Jodorowsky, check out Santa Sangre (1989).

the Swedish version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

read the book long ago where the word “coffee” appeared on average every fourth page.
saw the American version and thought it was too ridiculous.
wish i had seen this one first. it is just a little better.

I saw The Tomorrow War and was pretty disappointed. It was an interesting premise wasted on a terrible script in my opinion. Here is a list of issues I had with it:

1. The worldwide draft of men and women. This was glossed over as if the governments of the world could just implement this without any backlash. I think civil wars would be fought. After all, who is to say that the future those soldiers came from is the future the world was currently headed toward?

2. Somehow, a bunch of alien monsters without opposable thumbs or any discernible military strategy has defeated not just one, but ALL of the world’s armies. They sure aren’t immune to gunfire or explosions so I just don’t buy them as a global threat.

3. The main character’s scientist daughter (and all the future’s scientists) decided to fight a war they knew they were going to lose to send back a poison to the past. Why not just immediately check the area the aliens are supposed to originate from? Why not have a welcoming committee on standby? And why, WHY would you send back a vial of the poison without instructions on how to make it rather than the formula?

4. The original poison was apparently effective against everything but the queens. That would still make the monsters go extinct! All female monsters = no reproduction = humanity wins. But they spend a lot of time and energy making it work for the female monsters and almost failed to get the poison sent back as a result.

5. Plot armor is a real problem here. Main character falls a really long way into a pool and the impact should have killed him. Water might as well be concrete if you fall from too high up. He suffers no injuries. The monsters were throwing heavy male soldiers around like they were made of straw but somehow the scientist daughter of 133lbs somehow survives being in close proximity to one for long enough for her dad to decide to leave the chopper and come help. Chris Pratt also beats one of them with his fists. Sounds cool on paper. But it’s really stupid when you think about how fast and strong the aliens were shown to be earlier.

6. After discovering the monsters in the original ship (Alien ripoff btw, as another race was transporting them) they decide to inject them with poison one by one NOT starting with the queen rather than just blowing up the ship with the explosives they already had with them!

7. I like Chris Pratt in general but I don’t buy him as a scientist or as a soldier. A better script could probably have made him a more convincing scientist. But I don’t think any script could make Chris Pratt seem like a battle hardened Afghan veteran.

I’m a fan of Yvonne Strahovski and though she was good in this. It’s a shame the movie wasn’t better; I can’t imagine it will jump start her feature film career.

There are more issues but that’s all I’m typing for now.

I’d say if you want to watch an alien invasion movie, Edge of Tomorrow (a.k.a. Live. Die. Repeat.) is a far superior movie

I also watched an Italian comedy film starring Terrence Hill and Bud Spencer. The title is “Watch Out, We’re Mad” or in Italian “…altrimenti ci arrabbiamo!” which translates to, “….otherwise we get angry!” which is a phrase that appears once in the film.

This movie is just mediocre. It starts out alright but the pacing really drags in places and the slapstick violence near the end is too long and repetitive to be very funny. I watched it because I love the movies “They Call Me Trinity” and “Trinity is Still My Name” starring the same duo.

Wrath of Man — Pretty good Movie/Action —- Soundtrack has an Intensity to it —- The movie builds you upward to a very Dismal Finally
After you’ve seen so many action movies not much new stuff to see — I’d watch it again though

That was funny!
