Though i notice they don’t mention what single battery they are using or what the runtime is.

Some of us felt some of their claims were dubious.

Pretty sure they mean it has 18 LEDs instead of 300 LEDs.

The text is a bit confusing though, “relative radiometer speed - or explosion in this case” seems like a poor way to measure output.

It even says “POLICE” on the side, so it can’t be a lie.

A few bucks at a time but still, if you have a hundred lights or more then you have probably spent more than this costs. Several members have stated they have more than 100 lights on another thread.

But of course money can be pooled. A Patreon could raise the funds if necessary.

300 xhp70.2 @ about $8-9 for a bare emitter is around $2700 minus shipping, the heatsink would also be really expensive for that aluminum (u less you could source ot for free/cheap). The power source would be expensive depending on what you used (probably some lipo packs in series/parallel) and the driver would be a custom job. The cheap way would be use some server power supplies as the cc/cv source and wire in a potentiometer or something for variable brightness, or develop some kind of MOSFET based driver and use PWM. That’s a lot of custom stuff, and a lot of time and $$. If a guy or gal were less ambitious, buy several MS18s, pull out the guts, and stick them together in a custom host on a heatsink and figure out some kind of switching to regulate the drivers simultaneously. Wishful thinking perhaps?

Funny, but I just posted this today…

Where there are 8 Luxeon LEDs on one board, with a bulk converter switching down 120VAC to whatever voltage is needed.

Imagine those are in series for better efficiency and no need to match individual voltages (to prevent current-hogging), but the principle is sound.

The same can be adapted to big honkin’ strings of emitters.

I’m returning mine as although it’s bright it has next mode memory and strobe is in the main mode group.

This is the only flashlight NOT made in China I have seen for a very long while (excluding the Maglites and Streamlights; I do have one 3D Maglite, and one 4AA Stremlight, both made in the USA).
