I saw The Tomorrow War and was pretty disappointed. It was an interesting premise wasted on a terrible script in my opinion. Here is a list of issues I had with it:

1. The worldwide draft of men and women. This was glossed over as if the governments of the world could just implement this without any backlash. I think civil wars would be fought. After all, who is to say that the future those soldiers came from is the future the world was currently headed toward?
2. Somehow, a bunch of alien monsters without opposable thumbs or any discernible military strategy has defeated not just one, but ALL of the world’s armies. They sure aren’t immune to gunfire or explosions so I just don’t buy them as a global threat.
3. The main character’s scientist daughter (and all the future’s scientists) decided to fight a war they knew they were going to lose to send back a poison to the past. Why not just immediately check the area the aliens are supposed to originate from? Why not have a welcoming committee on standby? And why, WHY would you send back a vial of the poison without instructions on how to make it rather than the formula?
4. The original poison was apparently effective against everything but the queens. That would still make the monsters go extinct! All female monsters = no reproduction = humanity wins. But they spend a lot of time and energy making it work for the female monsters and almost failed to get the poison sent back as a result.
5. Plot armor is a real problem here. Main character falls a really long way into a pool and the impact should have killed him. Water might as well be concrete if you fall from too high up. He suffers no injuries. The monsters were throwing heavy male soldiers around like they were made of straw but somehow the scientist daughter of 133lbs somehow survives being in close proximity to one for long enough for her dad to decide to leave the chopper and come help. Chris Pratt also beats one of them with his fists. Sounds cool on paper. But it’s really stupid when you think about how fast and strong the aliens were shown to be earlier.
6. After discovering the monsters in the original ship (Alien ripoff btw, as another race was transporting them) they decide to inject them with poison one by one NOT starting with the queen rather than just blowing up the ship with the explosives they already had with them!
7. I like Chris Pratt in general but I don’t buy him as a scientist or as a soldier. A better script could probably have made him a more convincing scientist. But I don’t think any script could make Chris Pratt seem like a battle hardened Afghan veteran.
I’m a fan of Yvonne Strahovski and though she was good in this. It’s a shame the movie wasn’t better; I can’t imagine it will jump start her feature film career.
There are more issues but that’s all I’m typing for now.
I’d say if you want to watch an alien invasion movie, Edge of Tomorrow (a.k.a. Live. Die. Repeat.) is a far superior movie
