Hospital Visit Today

Surely so. Every single time a virus changes hosts it mutates a little bit...that's normal. Most of the time it doesn't matter but once in awhile it does. And this dude started out as a fiendishly clever one in that regard, even able to repair itself (that's bizarre, really). What's going on with this bugger is so much different than the flu so allowing it (so to speak) to spread so much and have so much opportunity to mutate to its advantage (given the repairability) is just asking for more misery. I suppose with a giant stroke of luck it could mutate into something more benign like Sars 1 did. At this point, I don't think so...too much, and literally all over the planet now. This little virus overlord gets to call the shots.

Iā€™d pay to see the actual data behind this. Data from Israel, Iceland, UK and Australia tell a completely different story.

What good are data from israel, Iceland, UK and Australia when we are talking about US numbers?

Somethings in life give us a second chance and we can learn from our mistakes, health unfortunately usually donā€™t give second chances, thereā€™s no starting over, no negotiation, no I didnā€™t know better, it simply happens, and you have to deal with the consequences, sorry for the dark tone, I work in healthcare in Brazil, sometimes COVID-19 can be just some inconvenience with little to no symptoms, some times it is disastrous and unforgiving, itā€™s like Russian roulette, so I try to warn those I care about. Like you guys
Please be safe

As long as we are all Homo sapiens, it matters a lot...or rather, we should listen, because we're all the same for the most part. This virus even in its hundreds of strains over the last year has shown that genetics don't seem to matter for much of anything. Still a lot to learn, though, and now that most of the panic/emergency has subsided we're starting to see much better studies and research...that'll be happening for years to come.

Did you think that being a human in a different country (or state) makes a difference?

If COVID is as bad as we are told, and I am sure it is. (They would never lie to us.) Why are thousands of unvaccinated & untested ILLEGALS allowed to enter the USA by crossing the Southern Border each day??
And then many/most are bussed/transported to different points all across the nation!! :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

This seem completely counterproductive to stopping the spread of COVID!!!
I mean what are they (the powers that be) thinking??

ORā€¦.

Are they really not that concerned with COVID??

By what they are doing & allowing it would seem they donā€™t care or have no worry.

What is really going on??

This is disheartening to say the leastā€¦.

You can find data from Israel and Iceland and the U.K. and Australia, but you can't find the data for the U.S.?

...

All you gotta do is Google:

What percentage of covid deaths in the US are unvaccinated?

You'll get plenty of different answers, but the vast majority are around 99%

This number is not sufficient. If we were all vaccinated, RC, the fraction of deaths of vaccinated people would be 100. If none are, the number is 0. So, for each case youā€™d need the knowledge of the fraction of vaccinated people in that age and risk group. I know where to get those numbers in Germany, the RKI is well organized and offers spreadsheets for download. Iā€™m quite sure something similar can be found for you US citizens.

Just wondering when exactly people started believing this, because history vehemently disagreeā€™s.

Also for good measure, we were warned about this kind of future.

Bonus Version

You actually mean they ā€œwouldā€ lie to us??? :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

I. am. shocked. ā€¦ SHOCKED I TELL YOU!!! :person_facepalming:

Great videos too I might add. :white_check_mark:

PSā€¦ I wonder the same thing you do.

Politics again :person_facepalming: .

Not really. I personally see honest discussion in the making hopefully.
Time will tell thoughā€¦.

There has definitely been a lot of mass mental-conditioning that has gone into achieving this.

Now, just mentioning the idea that the Government, Pharma or people who have a lot of profits at stake would habitually lie and ultimately harm others for profit and power gets you chastised as a conspiracy theorist. This is no accident, and neither is the fact that the US government is the one who purposely popularized that phrase to slander the character of anyone questioning the governments actions and official stories. Now this behavior is literally all you see on TV.

Hereā€™s a nice little breakdown of this as well as of how it factors into recent events.

ShyOne is right, hopefully this ends up being an honest conversation with genuine open-mindedness to how we may have gotten here.

Also, I would not call this politics, this is Humanitas. ā€œChief intellectual contexts with the implication of humane learning, or a humanistic approach to the problems of the human conditionā€.

When did ā€˜They lie to usā€™ started a reasonable discussion the last time? Iā€™d say never.

TouchĆ©. When someone has been found out to have lied to you, itā€™s not something people take too lightly. So very very true indeed that it normally is not a pleasant discussion.

Though, Iā€™d say that itā€™s still up to us individually to maintain civility and carry out a respectful and hopefully edifying conversation.

Most of our issue with this conversation starts with many people not knowing what governments and industry have already proven to be willing to do in the past to their own people. I donā€™t think that having this discussion should be an issue for anyone. How can learning from our past be so controversial? Thatā€™s not a natural thing, it should be universally welcome. We are at a place and time where that is not welcomed and that should be a major alarm for most people, but itā€™s not. Why has our government behavior become so draconian? Why are most cheering it on and allowing fear to be the main motivator? That too, is unnatural and ultimately what is in dire need of discussing, understanding and addressing.

Guys, let's just agree that the human race is bad to the bone! :D

Right, and everyone knows.

Because we (mankind) are unable to learn from history. Everything repeats again and again and again. Look back into the past and you will see that mankind has fought wars for the same reasons and objectives that we are still facing today or tomorrow. Self-destructive behaviour seems to bloom inside our blood. Personally, I think nature has deliberately put some kind of barrier into the evolution of mankind, making it impossible to overcome our weaknesses. A world like Star Trek will remain science fiction no matter how hard Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos or Richard Branson push the limits to make manned long-range space travel come true.

That said, Iā€™m conviced people have a realistic view on the society and draw their own conclusions from the data and their knowledge about companies and politics. It is bad style to say some are wrong in their opinion about Covid-19 since they donā€™t know facts X, Y, and Z. They just have a different point of view.

And this is hard to discuss, especially since this data is hard to understand. So, either trust the scientists and be done, or donā€™t trust them and check the data yourself.

Correlux is right. We have a lot to learn. Iā€™m new to flashlights. Not new to healthcare (almost 30 years). For this entire pandemic, I have been in the critical care units of two hospitals. As a career respiratory therapist, I was the guy making BIPAP work during early COVID until emergency ventilators were shipped in. If you have COVID you see me. All I know is that in this case study that Iā€™m living in, the government supported, rapidly developed, well distributed vaccine appears to have made COVID an infrequent problem in a few months time. However thatā€™s in a very well vaccinated population. I may be telling a different story next week, but things are really good here, except folks rolling in who werenā€™t vaccinated. Also, with mandatory COVID reporting to CDC, weā€™re seeing very sporadic breakthrough cases nationally.

On the other hand, Deltaā€™s spread rate seems to be double that of other variants and thatā€™s been studied in a vaccinated population which is much less fertile or susceptible to being infected, if that makes sense. It could be that if you havenā€™t been vaccinated, youā€™re really gambling.

As far as the clinical data goes, whose to say that ā€œBreakthroughā€ cases could lying about being vaccinated out of embarrassment. We are trying to study humans with a very dim flashlight. Whatā€™s the CRI of epidemiological research vs all the unknown unknowns of reality? The statement ā€œConclusive Studyā€ in itself seems to be an oxymoron, as so many studiesā€™ outcomes canā€™t be reproduced. Biases are everywhere, and political agendas and fears can also lead to bad decisions.

Also Media is excited to grab headlines that show the next wave, or a good one is when they point out when cases have doubled when todayā€™s ā€œdoubleā€ numbers are a small fraction of what we saw in the bad old days. I rarely see articles pointing out how rapidly things have gotten back to normal in areas with good vaccination rates like here.

So now less vaccinated areas such as Texas are dealing with viral wildfire where thereā€™s much more tinder. Surprise, surprise. Yet I still think the vaccinated are safe. More variables do abound, and Iā€™m not an expert. Maybe international areas are dealing with lesser performing vaccines? I probably have muddied the waters, but that being said, get the damn vaccine or youā€™ll be seeing me as I suction your endotracheal tube. Now lets get to talking about flashlights! Iā€™m waiting on my DSV2, Convoy L7 and Astrolux WP3. Donā€™t tell my wife.
