Budget flashlight recommendation from eBay

Letā€™s try to be productive and help new members, rather than being sarcastic and dismissiveā€¦

The problem with trying to buy a flashlight from eBay is that if you donā€™t search for a specific brand (and even if you do), you get mostly junk in the results. If you do search some of the known budget brands (like Sofirn and Convoy mentioned above), the price increase from buying the same lights from AliExpress (for Convoy) or Sofirnā€™s own site eat up that $5 coupon and still cost more.

Look through the reviews and discussions of different 18350 lights (or ask about specific ones) and then ask if we here think theyā€™re right for what youā€™re looking for and whereā€™s the best place to buy. Use that eBay coupon on a good, used Victorinox knife or something.

I get most of my over-the-counter medications and supplements on eBay, usually because it's cheapest there if you look hard enough.

I don't know if that applies to the OP, but if it does, you could buy something like that on eBay and then get a great flashlight on AliExpress or one of the Chinese web shops.

Also, as suggested earlier, if you collect knives, eBay has some good deals on them.

Regardless of the $5 eBay coupon, I suggest that you instead check out the Convoy flashlight Store for a high quality, reasonably priced flashlight as others have suggested. Simon, the owner, is a great guy and a member here. He has great customer service, stands behind his products, and the shipping is pretty good.

Whats the most serious flashlight you have ever owned? :expressionless:
How about the most and least sombre? :face_with_monocle:

Finally which was the most studious light? :student:

The problem with buying a flashlight from ebay is that its like buying a ā€œGucciā€ watch from the back of a van :frowning:

Well said!

Thanks everyone, I donā€™t like aliexpress, I had problems with their new buyer protection.

Packages get lost and they say buyer protection ended.

Other than that aliexpress and other Chinese shops I guess became very expensive & aliexpress website unusable, and their search is useless.

I had a few lights from them a few years ago, they used to be cheap, but now triple the price on aliexpress banggood, gearbest, at least the ones I checked.

I donā€™t use Aliexpress either. But that doesnā€™t mean go to ebay :frowning:
What is your budget and how many lumens are you looking for?

They are good, but budget just keeps creeping up.

Probably, the $5 coupon is a good signal, so we are talking 5 to 40? Probably light, battery and charger, too.

Legitimate question. Why not make use of a coupon and get a good light to use with spare 18650 batteries? Sounds like a budget move.

Sofirn used to have an official store on ebay, and I bought my C01S (AAA flashlight) from there with one of those ebay coupons. Unfortunately that account seems gone now.

The problem is that in many/most cases ebay is not cheaper. Taking a quick look at popular Sofirn budget lights available now, like the SP40 or D25x, they are sold by unknown sellers from various countries and at a significant markup (i.e. double) compared to what you would pay from aliexpress or directly from vendorsā€™ stores. So you might have to look hard to find a good legit deal that also lets you use your coupon.

Aside, you might want to start by stating the intended use. Looking for a traditional flashlight? Angle light? Headlamp?

That kind of talk is how they can end up with several. :sunglasses:

Most shocked flashlight:

To actually try to answer the question, try one of these:

olight AAA Olight LED EDC Torch Flashlight I3T EOS Waterproof 180 Lumens Tail Switch BK/DT | eBay

Streamlight 18650 https://www.ebay.com/itm/304082471483

Convoy S2+ (7135*6, so not as bright as an *8, but also not as hot) (5000k, so cool white) https://www.ebay.com/itm/304084818738

Nice!

My most pretentious light is my Cyclone C88. However it failed to live up to its potential. Its in a box so no photo.
This is perhaps the most down to earth flashlight i can think of, i am impressed at how even the ano wear is, no idea how the owner managed that:

Iā€™m flattered, Bort!

I hope you arenā€™t too disappointed that my red S2+ is sporting ā€˜poser patina.ā€™

More details here.

I bet that streamlight is skookum af.

Cyclone c88 is more prepper than pretentious.

No point resisting the inevitable.

Good effort, but the OP specified international shipping and all of those seem to ship to USA only.

OMG   :crown:
Thats mighty impressive (and also explains the uniformity).

What gave you the idea to do that?

It is not prepper.
Prepper is my Klarus P1A that runs off 1AA.

I imagine there are other even preppier lights these days. Heck one could call my XTar Moon RC2 prepper, its USB rechargeable, has excellent long runtime modes and can run in any mode while recharging. One could even call the Wurkkos WK30 prepper, it has long lasting modes, 26650, charging built in and an excellent tint and hunting red light.

Wellā€¦ :person_facepalming:

hello,
you can go to the ā€œtrurstfire2020ā€ store, our lumen is real~
