Fireflies PL47mu???

Nichia 219B MU to be exact. (SST20 too).

It’s supposed to go live next week. 4 219B’s or 4 SST20’s. Also the head is a bit smaller and shorter the the regular PL47. Same price as the regular PL47.

I actually forgot to ask but I imagine they are. I was thinking of asking if red can be installed but for some reason I like the way the blue looks coming out of the red head and forgot to ask.

Sign me up, love my 5000k XPL HI one

Well, I found out because I placed a semi large order and Jack mentioned this was coming out next week. He asked if I wanted to add it to my order so I can take advantage of the shipping I was getting on the current order. Obviously he didn’t want me to see it come-out next week and feel like I missed out or whatever. I was very appreciative that he offered and gave me the chance. And obviously, I said YES PLEASE!!!

Anyway, if anyone is ordering something from Fireflies, I’m sure he’d be happy to add it for you guys too if you’d like.

I find it kind of odd to use anything other than E21As in a large array as a mule. Fireflies’ implementation in the Nov-MU was just so exceptional.

Yeah, red is available. That’s what I got. Jack said it comes in black and red just like the 2021 version.

Using 219B’s for this sounds great actually. I saw a FIRE custom Skylumen D4SV2vn with 219B’s and am so happy Jack did this as there are no production 219B mules available that I know of. 219B’s have more output than E21A so not as many are likely needed, especially in a smaller host with less mass.

But I do wonder about placement too. I know the PL47 does 2500 with optics, so if the LED’s are not centered like in the Nov-Mu, I would imagine we may have some output loss like Hanks mules have. I guess we’ll see soon enough.

I think it’s still kinda just right tho, as long as the 4 emitters are in the middle. All things considered, a mule headlamp on it’s own seems great, and with 219B’s, it may be perfect.

I would like to see a 2 channel headlamp with high-CRI option and single red emitter. Something like a third of the K9.3 in a headlamp.

The NOV-MU E21A mules are freaking amazing. I use them for room lighting on a nightly basis. I think that is the way to go for the new PL47 mule.

By that is the way to go, do you mean E21A’s 219B’s multi channel, just center-placement in general? I’ve read this a few times and can see it have a different meaning everytime.

Mule as headlamp is annoying, because you will light up your nose tip ;))

I mean sure, but tilt it up ever so slightly, and problem solved with light still everywhere.

Everywhere but not in front of you where mostly you need when wearing headlamp

So the light spread is so wide, that it hits your nose…
Then move it just half an inch up, so that it just hits your toes
Problem solved :sunglasses:

No buck? No interest…

Fireflies PL47MU 219B just dropped.

I was going to order one of these, but noticed you have to select “30 degree fog optics”
Is this a frosted optic? I don’t remember this being an option when I got my last PL47 just with normal XPL HI emitters.

Really wanted to get another, with 219B 4500k emitters this time around for some of that high CRI goodness…

The listing your looking at is the PL47g2 2021. The one here and in the link right above your comment is the PL47mu. Since it’s a mule it has no optics. If you want the non-mule version, I honestly don’t know if the optic is frosted. But I’d say you’re making a great choice in going with the Nichia’s.

Whoops yes, you are right! I’d imagine the 219B’s would work better as a mule instead of behind frosted optics right?
That link above isn’t working for me for the mule version

Nevermind it’s working now, finally
