DC-Fix Diffusion Film Sale

So… no Killer Boaz?

What a letdown…

that's a very nice comment ...

Sent you a PM ... maybe my pm works :)

Just found my DC-fix from my last order. Cut out a piece for my H32w.
Did the trick, like I new it would.
Now the H32w is very comparable to the Manker E03II TIR (without difuser).

Has anyone figure out an easy way to cut a doughnut ? And just cover about a 1/4 inch of the outer ring?
Results?

Easiest to use a decent compass and an extra fine pencil point or ink pen if it will take that, then just scissor it out.

I wouldn't buy a set just for this purpose, but gasket punches can be darn handy. I will tell you straight up that the quality of metal (and sharpening) in this kit and similar others is not great, but they generally work ok and would be fine for this. Not all sets have a center point like this one but that's the best way to go for accuracy (point is removable if you wish for other tasks). This set is a couple bucks more than others but it has more sizes, too. Disadvantage is the fixed sizes of the cutters. Put the film over a firm but forgiving surface (wood, hockey puck, hard industrial rubber) and give it a whack. Larger size first of course. There are nicer sets (better steel) from Lang/General and some much higher priced industrial brands but they usually just use a straight hex handle without the center point.

You could also use the light bezel as a guide for the outer diameter and then find a socket that suits and try to center it as best you can. There are some architectural drafting templates that might work, too..."crosshair" concentric circles that would only leave you with four small points to snip without a line.

And there are craft "circle cutters" out there but I think all of those have a somewhat large minimum cut diameter (basically a compass/trammel point setup with a cutting blade attached). If you have a compass that will take larger pen/sharpie marker bodies you could possibly put an x-acto knife in there.

I might see about some sockets, I have various sizes.

Got some DC fix and 1/8 minus green, thanks.

Sent pm, need few filter.

Need a little help please

I’m wanting to make a removable filter cap to give the Osram CSLNM1 Red a bit more flood for closer range, what d-c-fix type would work? The Convoy L21B has a very tight beam, so it would be great if I could spread it out for use at 80 - 200m. This L21B achieves a range of 850m ANSI and it’s fairly tight for anything under 300m.

Still need that hotspot with just a bit more spread to it, if possible.

Thinking of getting a red filter and remove the red lens and replace it with a spare L21B lens with the d-c-fix.

Thanks

Try some dc fix but cut it smaller than the full diameter. Leaving 1/8” or so around the circumference uncovered will give you more flood but still keep your throw. I used the original dc fix.

Order incoming! Glad to be able to still get these!

yeah that's kind of a nifty trick to diffuse the spill but not the hot spot .

the #3 is becoming one of the better sellers these days because it has about half of the overall diffusion of the original #1 Dc-Fix

Boaz, is it possible to get 1 sheet that is 12” in length instead of two that are 6”? I’m looking at applying this for an LED desk lamp. Thanks!

Sure .. But I don't subscribe to my own thread so the best way to get a hold of me is to PM me .

I sell 15 different diffuser materials at this point and about 10 different filters. I'll send you my famous cut copy and paste reply to requests .

I just received mine today. This is incredible and it gives new life to all lights.
I managed to convert my rarely used FW3A 6500k to 4500k with a layer of F4 and 2 layer of minusgreen Z3. It’s comparable to my D4V2 SW4500.

The #2 diffuser has a very slight warm tint compare to the MacBook diffuser film I’ve been using. I have a D40A with 50.2 and it sucks. The beam, hotspot, tint and I managed to make it smooth and rosy with layer of #2 and 2 layers of minusgreen 1/4.

I lose lumens but I have a “new” lights
The F4 is not heat resistant and it will melt.

Just received my dc-fix from Boaz! Great service and quick shipping to me.

Nice first post :)

Thanks Again Frank

sent one sheet of each:
#3, #7, #10, #F2 and #F4

Hi Boaz, I want to buy some dc-fix and zircon filters, already sent you a PM yesterday. Thanks.
