** BLF LT1M-Mini Project - The little Lantern! ( PM's sent today June 21, 2022)**

Interested, if there is an option to detach the diffuser. I’m just interested in driver improvements to the if25, and ability to adjust thermal cutoff.

Interested for one or two
Thanks for your work!

I’m not sure if there is a High-CRI LED in that range of tint of 1800K, but its probably not a big issue when its that warm close to a candle light color.

Interested

It might be awhile before we get true candlelight CCT emitters but I’d love it if we could get 2000k E21A as a new low end CCT

I was also interested in the 2200K-2000K E21A’s, but Sofirn supposedly had issues with sourcing them.

As my flashlight taste palate evolved, I no longer like lights I purchased in the past due to the color temp. I have an SP36-pro that has 6500k emitters. I want to replace it and noticed the offer a 2000K emitter choice which I think is the E21. I have diffusers for the SP36 and I reckon with the uber warm E21’s, it might make a good tailstand 5600lm little lantern. Not that you would run it on turbo but turned right down on candle setting and it would be pretty nice.

I going to order another LT1…in that hawt orange color. But…I notice they are advertising the new updated Anduril 2 version, it’s significantly more expensive. Is there any difference other than the Anduril? I like my LT1 just the way it is I don’t want any new fancy more complicated UI, it took me long enough to master Anduril-V1. So is it just the programming that is different?

No, the new LT1 version also functions as a USB-C powerbank. Even using a nice standard compliant chip

The actual flashlight circuitry is untouched compared to earlier versions, so you should be able to flash Anduril 1 onto it.

However, i would encourage you to give Anduril 2 a chance.
For basic uses, Anduril 2 is very similar and in many aspects more forgiving than Anduril 1.
More advanced uses do require some relearning of course.
I personally have reflashed all my lights to Anduril 2.

Interested in at least one of these!

Thanks, I was looking at the Anduril 2 operation sheet today, I wonder if they increased the type C charge rate to PD18w spec, that for me would justify the cost increase for sure.

Interested. Not sure how to get added to the list. I haven’t read every page on the thread any idea what the price might be?

I added you to the list. I asked Barry for an estimate of the price and since they are close to making a prototype hopefully he’ll be able to provide a number.

Very true, Maybe sacrificing a bit of CRI to have a candle tint glow at it’s warmest setting is fine. I have some random-brand LEDs in modified lanterns in the 1800 ~ 2000K range, and love the near candle flame color tints, regardless of the lower CRI, and its not really noticeable when they get into that flame yellow range.

BLF member rngwn has had 1900K 5mm leds made with wonderful tint and CRI (1900K, 93CRI, duv –0.0010, I recommend these btw, he has many still for sale in his thread). I’m not saying that these should be used for the little lantern (at 10 lumen max per led you need too many of them), but apparently there are chinese led manufacturers willing to custom make leds with special tints, at low quantities (rngwn’s batch was 10,000 pieces). Maybe a route for the lantern?

Interested as well!

Nichia recently added an 1800K, R9050 version of the E17A to their product listings:

http://www.nichia.co.jp/specification/products/led_spec/NCSLE17AT-E(6277)sm18x%20R9050.pdf

They are also supposed to have an 1800K version of the 219F coming out, which will be easier to work with due to the XP-sized package, but so far, only 70 CRI has been announced. It should still be far better than amber for imitating firelight.

1800k Nichia’s sound nice. When modding an LT1 any Chinese made led ‘you’ are happy with is just fine. But for off the shelf production I think USA or Japan made high quality emitters are a must. The LT1 has a sense of quality noticed by its users that is important. I think whatever DBSAR and Co come up with will sell, this lantern has a big following here and abroad.
