Wurkkos FC12S (side switch version from FC12) what do you think?

My Wurrkos FC-12 arrived today, the main reason I bought it was the bright purple color! When you have 40-50 lights standing upright on a shelf it gets very hard to find a certain light when most of them are black so having a bright color really helps you find ‘that light’! Even the dark greens, browns, greys kinda don’t stand out but bright purple certainly does. Anyway about the light, machining, fit and finish are really nice, square threads and decent beam profile for a small diameter light. I wish Wurkkos included an 18350, tube that would be awesome and add a heap of value. I did however fit my SP31-PRO short tube onto the FC-12 and it fit perfectly, only problem is that as it has no tail switch it is constantly ON with no way to turn it OFF unless you unscrew the tail cap. You have full control of functions like ramping etc, just no off button as the front main control button is not and OFF/ON button on the FC-12. Its fairly long for a single cell 18650 light much longer than any of my other single cell lights. This is obviously due too 3 things, onboard charging, a much deeper reflector for the dedomed throwy SFC-40 emitter and the tail cap switch. Overall I like the new emitter and light in general I just wish it had a short tube as it’s a bit too long for EDC carry. The Wurkkos 3000mah cell appears to be a different cell to the Sofirn 3000mah. Whether it’s of better quality or worse I don’t know. You don’t get any current specs on Wurkkos or Sofirn cells, just the cells capacity and safety sign telling you not to eat the cell or put in in a fire etc.

Thanks for the fast review, how is the working when put a 18350 short tube on FC12?

Yes to the green. I love the green

Thanks for that review, cr888, fast and thorough.

Very curious how this beam will look.

yes, the EC03 Green! Top 3 favorite flashlight colors of all I have owned! Sofirn nailed that color!

please try that one wurkkos!

also, FireFlies e07x red is unquestionably the nicest anodization color I have ever laid eyes on. That's a standard for color and finish (slight metallic red).

But pleas don't make two greens.. the lighter green (or the astrolux ec03 green) and either

red, dark blue, orange, silver (raw aluminum) or sand/gold.

will try :crown:

Just got my two Wurkkos FC12 flashlights this morning.

Comparing one of them with my green pens. This is the “banana leaf green” which I believe will make Wurkkos FC12 quite nice. :+1:

yes the green banana leaf color would be awesome too!

nice color

It works well apart from not having a switch on tail switch so the light just remains on. But If you made a short tube with switch I think folks would appreciate it.

Does the FC12’s tail not also thread onto the short tube?

looks awesome “green banana leaf ”

Got mine today. Overall very happy. Build quality is excellent. No blemishes.

Could someone please post the beam shot?

The first post in this thread is the beam shot.

Received the purple yesterday! looks awesome!

Correct while the threads appear to be the same pitch, the Sofirn short tube I think are a little more square so you get a couple of turns then it gets tight, I didn’t want to force it and damage the threads. But…if you can deal with using the twist of a tail cap as an on/off switch it works really well performance is good. Another little trick too is the pocket clip on the FC-12 works well on the Sofirn SP31-PRO short tube setup. The original Sofirn clip only works well when using the full 18650 tube but with a little tweaking the FC12 clip can be made to fit well on the short tube SP31-p. I really like the FC12 as a light, I’m not a big fan of 2 switch lights, they kinda a bit annoying to use as you need to active 1 switch to turn it on then the other switch to configure the ramping or whatever funtion you want. The FC12 is just a bit too long IMO for an 18650 light. Like compared with say a warrior mini Olight or SR2 baton pro or SP31-PRO it’s roughly 30-40% longer. So an 18350 tube would be a great option to purchase separately or come with the light. I have the green Vapecel T-14 18350 cells which have 1400mAh capacity which is darn fine for such a small cell.

nice, great info, thanks CR888! I may try adapting a short tube for the wife

Mine's on the way, but it will be getting Anduril 2 with support for the tactical tail switch - best of both.
