new flashlight design

Oh man, no picsā€¦ I am dying to see the progress.

Second try for the pics

very nice!
thanks for sharing your work
tritium slots?

That is so cool. Have been on a 14500 kick lately and that is nice. Wish I could justify ine.

Thereā€™s definitely plenty of room for tritium slots, any suggestions on where may look cool?

? :student:

I would like to see a 3d plus or X under the emitters on the front.

Actually on the front under the emitter there is quite a bit of meat, perfect spot for tritium now that you mention it!

Just made the bezel, by far the hardest part yet. Itā€™s tiny, super fine threads, tiny, super small and oh yeah I donā€™t have a lathe so I had to make it on my mill lol. It came out pretty good definitely the piece Iā€™m most proud of so far. The lighting sucks in my garage and the finish right off the machine looks much better in person but hereā€™s a couple of pics.

Looking really good, great skills.

Finally finished! Taken forever but I have a completed light all made from scratch! let me know what you guys think!

Lead with the last paragraph in the OP. Thatā€™s my best suggestion.

I would like to see that kind of product.

Looks really nice!

Definitely a unique design. I enjoyed reading this thread very much

Nice! Thanks for sharing. I would buy one if not to expensive

looks great, congratulations
I look forward to your success.

Now that I have everything ironed out Iā€™m placing orders for a few batches worth of components and am launching a limited Pre-order! I hope to have the first lights shipped out this month depending on the anodize. I have some test bodies being done right now so I can choose what colors will be offered and should have them by Friday. I am only tanking a small number of orders so I anticipate on selling out pretty quickly and anyone who orders will be emailed a selection sheet for choosing the led, the color, and the optic. Thanks to everyone who has helped out its really appreciated! Not sure if i am allowed to link this but I created a site for ordering Pointermachieworks.com If its a problem posting that on here i will remove.

No problem adding a link: https://www.pointermachineworks.com/

Did you hook up with Richard at MtnE for the driver? Richard hasn't been very active as of late, but he's still selling/supporting his products as I understand.

The price is out of my league for an EDC unfortunately.

Curious design. As for tritium, Iā€™d go for something more like this, naturally in line with a groove already there (just need inset cuts for clean vial mountingā€”either per vial, or one long channel to accommodate multiple vial sizes), well protected :

I havenā€™t been in contact with Richard but I am purchasing my drivers from Mtnelectronics. The price is on the higher end unfortunately but thereā€™s 9 individually machined parts that are fairly intricate and the machine time is pretty high. I would like to offer a discount for forum members of 10 percent if you use BLF1

(Not sure what happened, I posted a reply and donā€™t see it now, so sorry if this is a dup.)

This looks really nice, I love rotary controls on lights, and it reminds me a little of the Cool Fall Spy series before the price went into outer space (coolfall.com if youā€™re not familiar). You might post about it on CPF since I think custom lights are more appreciated over there than here.

What driver did you pick out? How many levels, etc.? Any PWM? How is the thumbwheel switch going to work? One thing I liked about the Spy was that it was pure DC, no PWM at all. It used a custom driver and you may end up having to do the same for this light, maybe based on Anduril.
