Cause of Death

Makes me think of this comedian I’ve seen —- In one of his jokes he talks about how people go up to the casket and say how so n so looks good —He said hell no I want to look dead — I want people to come up and gag — say man what’s that smell ——

“How many here own a grave site and/or a headstone ready and waiting for you?”

well, we have done something like that.
our bodies will be donated and cremated afterwards,
which is already setup and legally binding.

I wasn't thinking negatively. My father bought the lots for his whole family when he was terminal 20+ years ago. Then 10 years ago my best friend passed away and she was put in one of the lots. So I had a double headstone made to match my parents. Also, I had a 1500 pound 4 ft. granite statue custom made for her that was placed between our stone and my parents. Best statue in any cemetery for miles around.

It’s not negative to plan. Having seen an unplanned estate, it’s your responsibility…

Good question. :white_check_mark:

I do.
….

+1 Amen to that… an unplanned estate can be a nightmare & disaster rolled into one big mess.
I have seen a couple too, thankfully not in my tamily.

And this applies to far more than what to do with the remains of the recently departed.

Well it’s kinda required of you. I mean it’s your name and all………

Not me, cremate me and just flush me down the toilet. I’m gone already at that point, what do I care?

If I were to die unexpectedly it would probably be due to something smart I shouldn’t have said to an idiot.

It was the first piece of real estate I ever purchased. Three slots over from my Dad, right after he passed. My Mom and sister bought the other two.

I was back home for 19 days earlier this year b/c of a family health emergency. While there, I had a chance to explore the cemetery. I found over 60 direct relatives including all of my Grandfathers going back to the first one that immigrated in 1846. Kinda cool actually.

My parents are from a little town called Hessmer, La.—— At the Catholic Church / Cemetery there’s four generations of my father’s family and 3 generations of my mothers buried there —- all siblings etc ———- I’ll never forget at my dad’s funeral the priest said — He was Baptized in this church — Married in this church and now Buried in this church

Hessmer? Is that around Bunkie? I’ve got family that still lives there and that town name sounds familiar.

Extreme jiggy jiggy maybe? Or would that be Ultra?

Right up the road about 5 miles — Bunkie talk about a town that rolls the sidewalk up Saturday at noon —- I hadn’t been that way in around 20+ years — when my dad passed away in 07 was my first time back — other than a few big homes built on the highway was just like I remembered

Yeah, 02-03 was the last time I was out that way.

Struck by lightning while hiking in the mountains. Or jumped by a mountain lion.

Lots of lightning and rain today. Take shelter under a tall tree, right? :person_facepalming:

That is a mountainess way!

Tall tree when it’s time to check out.

I would put good money on drinking

Eaten by a velociraptor would be cool

as posted previously, driving.
today, i drove 167 miles.
missed 2 excellent chances to die,
but i was paying attention to the traffic.

Have the conditions (percentage of oblivious crash causing morons) increased in the last 18 months? Seems that way to me, but I haven’t been driving much (and as a result I am a poorer driver).

Definitely slipping in the shower… I’ve had so many close calls.
