It was the first piece of real estate I ever purchased. Three slots over from my Dad, right after he passed. My Mom and sister bought the other two.
I was back home for 19 days earlier this year b/c of a family health emergency. While there, I had a chance to explore the cemetery. I found over 60 direct relatives including all of my Grandfathers going back to the first one that immigrated in 1846. Kinda cool actually.
My parents are from a little town called Hessmer, La.—— At the Catholic Church / Cemetery there’s four generations of my father’s family and 3 generations of my mothers buried there —- all siblings etc ———- I’ll never forget at my dad’s funeral the priest said — He was Baptized in this church — Married in this church and now Buried in this church
Right up the road about 5 miles — Bunkie talk about a town that rolls the sidewalk up Saturday at noon —- I hadn’t been that way in around 20+ years — when my dad passed away in 07 was my first time back — other than a few big homes built on the highway was just like I remembered
Have the conditions (percentage of oblivious crash causing morons) increased in the last 18 months? Seems that way to me, but I haven’t been driving much (and as a result I am a poorer driver).
dthrckt’s question:
“Have the conditions (percentage of oblivious crash causing morons) increased in the last 18 months?”
maybe, however i am driving more this year than the previous, so i am exposed to more of everything.
and, i am sort of out-of-practice since my driving skills somewhat degraded without use, which i also
think has happened to others as well. finally, there is actually “somewhere to go” and people are going
with the acronyms FOMO and YOLO fighting for the driver’s seat.
