Does it use proprietary batteries or the high drain Acebeam 21700?
It is a Built-in 10.8V/4250mAh Li-ion battery pack.
RamBull: Hardusvd70:I believe so. As I can remember the vn is 31000 lumens. My X80GT has no modification but I must say the X50 is definitely much better with throw and as well much better with the lumens output.

After 3 years battery will need to replace. But you can not do that. So you will have expencive light with maximum 40% battery capacity.
I will say yes. As I can remember the vn is 31000 lumens. My X80GT close to 28000 lumens has no modification but I must say the X50 is definitely much better with throw and as well much better with the lumens output.
X50 is going to be my next light. I am going to ask my favorite modder if he can replace the cells when the time comes. If he can't, I still want this light.
Are the cells 18650 or similar, or are they a special, unobtainable size?
Beautiful light but it’s hard to compare with my admittedly larger Imalent MS18 or my Firefoxes FF5
Does the lock/unlock switch cause you to hold the light any differently than you would otherwise?
Or does the switch in the unlock position create a thumb rest?
Does the lock/unlock switch cause you to hold the light any differently than you would otherwise? No not at all.
Or does the switch in the unlock position create a thumb rest? Depends how big your hand is.

I’m not sure what type of cells they using. It is a sealed unit.
There’s screws on the battery pack. Someone’s gotta try open them and see what’s inside.

There are three 21700 batteries in series.
Did a throw test at 20 meter distance:
Measured 116.8Kcd which gave a throw of 683 meters
Measured 118Kcd which gave a throw of 687 meters
Mine arrived today
The direction and placement of the LEDs may wreak havoc on even the mildest ocd.
But otherwise a great looking light.

Acebeam X50 cw
Very disappointed in the throw. Is not as much as the advertised 160Kcd or 800 meter. More in the region of 630 meter distance. The 40 000 lumens output seems correct.
I was unfortunately also quite disappointed with the X50 range.
Ultimately, I sent the X50 back to the dealer because the 800m was not nearly reached. Even the 630m mentioned by you I can not understand so. Likewise, the information about the runtime on turbo seems to be unfortunately also only marketing. Very sad, because the lamp is otherwise great in terms of appearance, processing, feel, fast charging and lockout switch.

Why do they publish false information? Just wonder……

Maybe Acebeams’ experience of throw consciousness is different from our experience of throw consciousness?

I noticed that the 160,000cd given by Acebeam are a bit too optimistic. Sorry to say.
