New Sofirn TIR thrower: IF22A SFT40 2100lm 629m

My pleasure Jackie. Actually, credits go to TLF member helicoil (Martin) who seems very actively following the Baidu community. My skills in Mandarin are unfortunately not good enough to read all the latest and hottest new trends coming from China.

I am glad to see that the TIR lens I recommended to Barry has revealed very good results. :THUMBS-UP: If you happen to get any SFT40 in 5000K, that would be awesome. Maybe you can also test some of these new Chinese LEDs like SFN55.2 and SFS80? I am afraid they are available in cold-white only, though.

SFN55.2 and SFS80, never heard of it, how is the performance

There are even more new Chinese LEDs. If you have any chance to get us some datasheets, we can have a look if they are worth testing. ;)

I’m on the hunt for a pocket thrower but there is so many options these days…

In this format (or smaller), what is actually the best thrower ? Ideally available in high cri or neutral white.

Quite interesting indeed, looking forward for more information about these Chinese emitters.
Hopefully the tint is not bluish or greenish.

That’s actually priced very decently, but the proportions seems a bit weird to me, maybe a couple cooling fins near the e-switch would make the head look less short

looks quite good, will do some search, thank you

Based on the appearance of recent new models, it seems that the move to transition from “Sofirn” to “sofirn” labeling on the latest lights was intentional, and not the work of a rogue machine operator in the factory.

Come on Sofrn, time to build a stronger brand identity and create your own wordmark!

Thank you, Jackie. The specs on that page… are they for the cone reflector? I imagine the TIR will have different throw/spill characteristics, but I don’t see any separate listing by reflector type.

As for the name… changing case, maybe consider a new font:

I like the 3rd one down on the left column… but if all lower case is preferred, I’d pick the 3rd one down on the right column. A sans-serif style font looks cleaner, more modern.

There is also the if22 with reflector. Wonder how different will it be beam wise. And the throw

Neal will be selling the NS73. Not sure when but he’ll have it. Not sure if I’ll buy it though. I do not like rear clickys. Side e switch would be so much better.

Not sure how NS73 / SFN60 will be like. But SFN55.2 and SFS80 have shown AngryBlue™ coldwhite. :confounded: I hope Jackie can get us some datasheets to see if there are warmer tints available, too.

Definitely something that appears more unique, and less like something easily mimicked by the standard font pack from an office suite.

Something modern, and clean, sans-serif, which is also more practical to reproduce and apply.

Of those pictured, I prefer the bottom one in the left column.

Or something like slightly less aggressive like Azo Sans in a regular or medium weight.

But one first step would be to take a look at the labeling application process in the factory. Between all the Sofirn lights I own, I swear that none of them have logos that are consistent with each other, or conform perfectly to the template. A couple are notably distorted, with the S looking more like the one on Superman’s shield.

we just updated more details

we have took some short videos ,did not know how to shows here

Can you upload them to Youtube and then share the link?

I think YouTube is blocked by the CCP in mainland China.

Not sure about that. Banggood asks for YouTube video link to show defective lights.

Will the mcpcb be available for purchase separately?
