Convoy S12 with 3x Nichia 219B SW45K R9080 available?
Or is it possible to have Convoy S12 with mixed 3x Nichia 219B (1x SW45k, 1x SW35, 1x SW30) = I wonder how this will look like?
Just when I thought having 12 S2+ was enough, Simon releases the 219B version! Take my money.
Thank you for the order codes. I’d be really interested to see the same measurement for the sw35 and sw45k.
thefreeman:Is the 4500K sw45 or sw45k ?

I have another question.
What solder alloys is used with LEDs pre soldered on MCPCBs.
Leaded or lead free ?

I’m wondering too.
And what kind of method they apply for reflow Led on Mcpcb?
Hi, Simon. I built a 219b S2+ a while back and the hotspot had an ugly yellow spot in the middle. Did you have to change anything to make the beam look good?

Damn! I hope this gets worked out. Every single time I use my orange-peel S2+ with a single 219b it’s almost like a religious experience. :+1:
To clarify, it’s the sw40 and sw45k that have given me trouble. My sw30 and sw35 look pretty great.
I’ve been planning to order some optics to try in place of the reflector. Just waiting on that M21B GT-FC40 to appear to place the order.
I welcome any advice on resolving the issue with the OP reflector, though, as I prefer that general beam pattern.

Check out the DC-fix that Boaz is selling on BLF

Thanks. Do you think it could be a focus issue? It’s a problem I’ve encountered with other LEDs, too. XP-L HI 5D in the KR1 gave me the same problem. Interestingly, SST-20 GA3 behind a 10507 optic did the same. Maybe I’m just too sensitive to this?

Correllux: Simon Mao: Correllux: texas shooter:Does Convoy have a U.S. store or vender?
No, other than Richard at MTN but he seems to have bailed or not been able to restock lately. I’ve never ordered from this outfit but I think people on here have spoken well of them recently: https://mohrlumens.com/collections/flashlights/convoy
JC Customs and Vinh have some of course, but nothing stock, I think. There are a few floating around on Amazon if you search for the model (but don’t include “convoy” in the search terms). I think Simon opened a store on Amazon US with just a few items but still shipping from China and the prices were pretty high (Amazon fees no doubt).amazon 15% fee aliexpress 8% fee I would like to know your shopping habits. Are you more willing to spend more money to shop on Amazon, or are you willing to go shopping on AliExpress? I really want to improve my Amazon store. However, Amazon’s policy is getting stricter and funds are easily frozen. Currently eBay does not welcome Chinese merchants. My account did not violate any rules and was frozen on the second day.
Amazon is a tough place for small businesses…lots of horror stories and a steep learning curve to be successful there. I’ve read about frozen funds that couldn’t be recovered and also frozen goods stuck in their distribution centers and unable to be retrieved.
I shop on both, and sometimes eBay. For flashlights I have almost always bought on Aliexpress or from Neal. Just a couple on Amazon when I found them at great prices. I don’t mind waiting for shipping from China but occasionally if something is on Amazon for just a little more money and I can have it shipped to me in a couple days or a week, I might buy there instead. I did that recently with a Sofirn light that was on sale for $28 on Amazon, received it the next business day. From Sofirn on Aliexpress or their website I could have gotten it for $23 and waited. (But then immediately I ordered an accessory for that light from them on Aliexpress because they did not stock it on Amazon US…they also don’t list parts and different LED options as much as they do on Aliexpress). I did notice that Sofirn seems to sell most lights with included battery - probably easiest for the US market where many consumers still aren’t familiar with lithium batteries, and good ones aren’t available on Amazon usually. Customer reviews can also be a bit harsh and unfair on Amazon, which affects algorithms and selling positions…there is much more freedom there with comments and reviews and people are not always fair, patient, or good natured (or smart….).Honestly with vendors like yourself, Simon, I would rather that you benefit as much as possible, so except for one light I always buy Convoy from you directly. Amazon is ok sometimes but their fees and the fierce competition make it a tough place, and sometimes not the best prices at all. I don’t eBay very often, usually only tools, but if I know a good vendor is on eBay and has good prices (often better than Amazon for same items) then I’ll shop there instead. I’m surprised to hear eBay isn’t welcoming China! I see many items that ship directly from Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Korea, or the UK. Maybe something new with politics…I hope not.
This Amazon model allows us to only send products with better sales to Amazon warehouses in the United States in advance. We can’t do this for accessories that have less sales and are not popular.
At present, it can only be settled in EBAY in the form of a company. And I heard that there are more restrictions.
Has the option to setup your own store front like Intl Outdoor and Sofirnlight been considered? Buying through Aliexpress is 10% surcharge for Australians anyways…
