It works well apart from not having a switch on tail switch so the light just remains on. But If you made a short tube with switch I think folks would appreciate it.
Does the FC12's tail not also thread onto the short tube?
Correct while the threads appear to be the same pitch, the Sofirn short tube I think are a little more square so you get a couple of turns then it gets tight, I didn't want to force it and damage the threads. But...if you can deal with using the twist of a tail cap as an on/off switch it works really well performance is good. Another little trick too is the pocket clip on the FC-12 works well on the Sofirn SP31-PRO short tube setup. The original Sofirn clip only works well when using the full 18650 tube but with a little tweaking the FC12 clip can be made to fit well on the short tube SP31-p. I really like the FC12 as a light, I'm not a big fan of 2 switch lights, they kinda a bit annoying to use as you need to active 1 switch to turn it on then the other switch to configure the ramping or whatever funtion you want. The FC12 is just a bit too long IMO for an 18650 light. Like compared with say a warrior mini Olight or SR2 baton pro or SP31-PRO it's roughly 30-40% longer. So an 18350 tube would be a great option to purchase separately or come with the light. I have the green Vapecel T-14 18350 cells which have 1400mAh capacity which is darn fine for such a small cell.

nice, great info, thanks CR888! I may try adapting a short tube for the wife

Mine's on the way, but it will be getting Anduril 2 with support for the tactical tail switch - best of both.

My little lady approves of the FC12. Color is nice (but she would prefer an even hotter color).

Gets hot faster than the soonfire mx70, but better performance, in general,, before that.

Fc12 turbo

Soonfire mx70

Impressive given the small diameter of fc12, looks like more spill and more throw.
Edit, just noticed the bat in fc12 shot

So.. after having it a day or two.. it's a little big (a lot big) and am I just an idiot but does the side switch only work to change modes? No on/off via side switch?

Bought for the wife but it's way too big for her carry requirements.. and it's kindve ehh for me, the beautiful finish and color (and my ability to steal the led for another build) are the only thing's saving this light right now from the open market... the tail switch is nice though ..

seeing a Real life size shot of these two, it looks like I need the ts21 instead, nice size for a 21700 light!

Some people like that tail/side switch function - I don't see it. Anduril has the same tail switch tactical feature but with the ability to turn it off on the side switch, thus keeping the switch LED ON. I rushed into this one just for the unique color. A better choice would be the SC31 Pro in blue or green with the SST-40 here, or the FC11 w/LH351D but just in black here.

Received mine yesterday. Fast shipping, just a week from China to UK.

Was expecting it to give greater range than Convoy S2+ SST40, but the difference is only marginal. Has a narrower beam, due to the deeper reflector and de-domed nature, which gives a few yards advantage. Perhaps in larger form factor torches the difference between sst40 and sft40 will be more apparent.

Nice light though. My only criticism is that the side button led only stays on for 5 secs to show battery status, so it is hard to find button in dark to change modes.

we have a plan that update FC11 2.0 with SFT40 ,tube design will keep as FC12, no tail switch

I agree with Tom E and Artie that the 2 flaws with this light are its tail switch which is not necessary & it’s length. That’s why I have 4 SP31P’s, they just WORK. It’s a bit of a shame as the beam, color and feel in hand is great on the FC12. It’s just damn annoying having the fumble with it to turn it on. These things could easily be changed to make it a great light, I really like the new emitter and reflector that’s used. Anyway I stole the clip off the Wurkkos and put it on my short tube SP31P so all is not lost. Would I recommend this light to a flashaholic… probably not.

It's utterly ginormous!

Yes, the SFT-40 is a powerful LED, hoping for a 5000K version though, but still, just order 5 more of these as bare LED's from KD.

FC-11 Pro: SFT-40, Anduril 2, available in colors!

I don’t mine the extra length, to me it just means more mass and surface area for cooling, w/o it being as wide as some other choices.

Would be nice if the electronic side switch could also power off/on the light though…didn’t expect only the tail switch would do that.

Yea, but the mass isn't in the best place for cooling, for sure. It doesn't need a deep reflector and doesn't need a massive style tail switch - tail switch's can be done shorter.

can a driver reprogram make the e-switch a power switch? that’d solve my issues w/ the host. I’m not mentioning these issues to the 2 ladies that like the light. ignorance is bliss.

Hhmm, you mean like what regular Anduril or Anduril 2 do? With these, like most e-switch firmware, they shut power off to the LED and put the system into a low power standby which is typically in the range of 20-30 uA. A click though "wakes" it up from standby mode.

If the MCU treated the e-switch like full power shutoff, then there would be no way to wake it back up via the e-switch. You may still have some parasitic drain as well from the driver components, not the MCU itself.

the length was for a longer throwing based on SFT40, Our initial idea is that a deeper cup can have a longer distance and it has a USB interface
