New Sofirn TIR thrower: IF22A SFT40 2100lm 629m

Which one will be a better thrower in real use? IF22A or IF22?

Reflector vs TIR in this case?

The short head is really nice :+1: .

Reflector has a higher rating of throw, 116 kcd vs 108 kcd - dunno in general, been curious about this myself.

I'm interested in the IF22A - $35 is a little steep, not much.

On their website it shows a little cheaper but sold out here.

I have ordered both IF22 and IF22A. Hope they arrive anytime soon, so I can do some comparison (lux meter, beamshots, whitewall shots). I have suggested Barry (Sofirn) to also try Osram KP CSLPM1.F1 or Osram KG CSLPM1.2 (no datasheet available) in IF22A. A green pocket thrower like this would be a good competitor to Acebeam's L18 or L19 model.

thanks ,that will be so helpful

IF22 better throw

Yes, we need more green emitter lights! Was thinking of getting the E10 but looking for better value options. If they can make a green osram version under $40, I’ll buy it. Short 18350/26350 tube would even be better

I don't have a huge problem with Comic Sans, but plenty of people do.

That’s one font that actually fills me with rage, so… no.

Just rattling peoples’ cages… :smiling_imp:

Yes, depends on whether you can avoid looking at it or not. Very difficult when prominently lasered into a flashlight body, except it's a no-ano one.

On behalf of Sofirn, some video footage...

Nicely done. I have the IF22 on its way. I think I’m going to like it.

Thanks LP for the videos, would be nice to see the two compared in that last setting from the balcony

No way. Acebeam has better UI.

What is that premises?
Prison in China?

And costs 3 times as much.

Anyone have a manual that explains UI? If you could post a copy it would be appreciated. Sorry I see on Sofirn site it uses Sofirn stepped and ramping UI.

Welcome to the forum. Someone with more experience will be along soon. I believe you have to upload pictures to a photo sharing site such as imgur. There may be instructions on site. I have not done this yet. Will be looking forward to seeing pics.

Hi. I am new here…I thought I would share with you what I know. I just ordered the if22A from sofirn’s website. I decided to go with the TIR lens because I do not want spill. I have a photo showing the two beam shots. This shows the difference in light output based off the two lenses. The TIR is the top one in the 3rd image. Looks like a cleaner cutoff with less spill.
