I have some 4k content “backed up” on my HTPC with an 8TB HD, but I don’t consider it a permanent solution since I don’t have enough room for redundancy. Anything I want “permanently” I own on disk. That way I get lossless audio and Extras too. I’ll check out Blacklist sometime :+1:
“It’s uh… uh… it’s down there somewhere, let me take another look.”
It’s good to confirm I’m not the only one who wasn’t ecstatic about the movie. It’s hard for me to even pinpoint exactly where the execution goes wrong but the whole thing feels so _off _to me.

Regarding the Harley Quinn “fight” I think the CGI flower confetti everywhere was a really bad decision. It made me think about the action too much. I was snapped me back to reality as I started wondering if the flowers got the movie a lower MPAA rating. Actually, that’s the second time; I was snapped back to reality earlier when the non-muscular 125lb woman somehow overpowered and snapped the neck of a bodybuilder twice her size. That and her walking into rooms full of enemies and shooting everyone without so much as getting grazed. Apparently there is nothing so special about Deadshot after all…
The Orphanage might be more thriller than horror movie, but it can be genuinely creepy at times. This is one of those movies that I wish I could watch again for the first time due to the mystery of it. I think that some story elements are left a little too open for interpretation in a way that makes theory-crafting difficult. Some movies, like The Prestige, are great second watches because you get to reanalyze the performances in a new context. The Orphanage seems to be thoughtful on more of a pseudo-spiritual level though rather than a cerebral one. The questions it raises are more important than the answers it doesn’t supply.
Seconded. I’ve seen it twice. Once with a close friend another time with my mother while she was recuperating from an accident. It’s slow, by today’s standards. But that’s a good thing. You almost feel like this was made a couple decades ago and remastered.
I love the feeling of history conveyed.
Another media production with that kind of feeling is “The Detectorists.” It’s a TV series, 3 seasons. It’s WEIRD at first, but then you get into it. The acting is truly superb. Very real people. Diana Rigg is in it, as well as her daughter (small parts). Plus that very recognizable pirate from Pirates of the Caribbean movie series.
I’ve been meaning to watch The Dig but keep putting it off. I’ll have to do it now…
As far as FD 5, I agree, it’s very good in the series and I did NOT see that coming.
If you liked the first one but started to get tired after so many sequels, at least see that one…after 1 & probably 2 of course (who doesn’t like Ali Larter?)
The Orphanage (2007) sounds like a good movie for me to take on vacation with me that my wife will like, ty
that Vault picture (like so many others) has characters
all “armored up” but no head protection. no helmets.
of course, it is just a movie, but this guy was in a movie:
I was talking to a friend about movies couple days ago and he mentioned Pandorum.
Then I realized, it was one of many, many other movies that… for whatever reason…
I started watching but never finished.
Finally I was able to see the whole movie last night.
