26800 Lithium-ion battery

Well now it rest on your shoulders to give us the first review. Can you run current test?

Both orders of mine were delivered today, waiting til I get home.

Home now, 3 tubes arrived, with my 26800 collection. The EA02 and FT02S is compatible. The HK4S came compatible. For the FT03, black and green are ok to me:

3 installed

Well darn-it! I wont receive my tubes for a few more days. They sure look great and thanks for teasing us with photos. Im looking forward to testing the QB26800 in my copper FT03S with SBT90.2. The additional capacity will be most welcome.

I Was thinking it'd be nice if they made a copper one haha for us with the ft03/s copper.

Texas ace- sorry I've been out all night, and slammed tomorrow 7a-9p, unfortunately it would be until Wednesday. But I feel like TomE could do this justice. I, have just barely learned how to use my DMM Lol

Four more from aloft for me. And a bright green wrapped with nightwatch nsx4e.

Aloft could probably use better packaging, but just one ding. That’s not the flash, you see, That’s the wrap thinned out. Seems cosmetic. I got a 100 grand candy bar. That was nice.

I’ve ordered a couple of these battery holders to try and find a little more elegant charging solution until a real charger appears someday. My plan is to slice it in two and stretch it out, then mount it to a thin substrate. I’ve got a few ideas but will wait until I have them in hand to see what the plastic is like and which options might work best. A simple bar in the hollow of the center angled rib might be enough if I can add mounting holes elsewhere or maybe sink them in a routed pocket (or just frame the outside). I think this model is the one that has the slightly thinner contacts but it still looks robust enough to me. Seems like Blossom and Baimoo are the two major manufacturers of these holders – the latter offers some high-heat nylon but I think these are probably run of the mill ABS plastic. I’ve got ideas on a dummy plug for the charger, too. The contact tabs on these 26650 holders are raised a little from the bottom surface which is nice compared to the 18650 models I’m seeing. There is a single cell version as well but that looks like it might be harder to stabilize after splitting.

OK, got my Convoy M3-C extension today and it is great . It needed more handle length I always felt. Now it fits my hand much more comfortably. Same goes for the Astrolux EA01. My only gripe is that I have a 2 26650s with no home now. I will be extending all my lights as tubes become available. I need to buy another 26800 battery for the FT03 now.

I use the M3-C on turbo exclusively. Hopefully with more capacity now I will get one more walk before charging.

That 6800 mah rating was done at a 10 amp draw. You should see a real difference.

Out of stock on Aloft hobbies :frowning:

Back in stock!

:+1:

Thanks! Grabbed one

Queen Battery sells direct on Aliexpress

Looked at their store a few times….MOQ is killer for most people, pricing for most items as well. Aloft has them for less than $6, still in stock, cheap shipping…hard to beat.

Has anyone experience with 26980 batteries? Pioneman offers their Convoy S11’s sister model K30 with three different tubes. 26650, 26800 and 26980.

26980 is a 30 amp, 6000 mah cell that came out a few years before the 26800.

Thanks.

Have you been capacity testing your 26800s? If so are they pretty consistent? The reason I ask is because I have been having a little trouble sustaining high with my M3-C. I changed the tail spring to a heavier one to see if that affects anything. I don’t see why it should as the stock one was bypassed. Could be the driver. It gets funky sometimes. Have to loosen/tighten the tail cap to reset it.

I’m using an Xtar X2 that measures charging not discharging. Comparative at 2.80 volts to 4.2 at 1 amp charging, Shockli 5500 mah vs QB26800. Shockli charged 5700-5735 mah, QB26800 charged 7280-7330 mah. This has been an accumulative list with 14 different QB26800 cells on their 1st to 3rd recharge. I have no actual experience with the 26980, only reading what the sites list and they’ve placed that cell at 5,000 to 6500 mah.

Thanks. I think the spring was my problem. Time will tell. When I first bought the M3-C it did not charge properly. It would indicate full charge when it was only 3.8 or 9 volts. When I told Simon about it his reply was to send a new tail spring. I never installed it because I had already bypassed the original one. Now that I have finally changed the spring it seems to have corrected itself. KOW.
