NEBO Luxtreme: Full Review

And ya still hate that dishonorable LEP?

OK, so I was a LITTLE hard on it!

Not a bad light but I think for the money, you can do a hell of a lot better.

Eventually that little rubber hatch will be knocked open and water will get in. Some time after that the rubber hatch will break off and you will lose it. You could put some electrical tape over it but it will peal off. If the on button were not in the way you could stretch a bicycle inner tube over the charging port. I wont buy any Nebo product until they fix that flaw. There are diving lights that have a high trow but they rate them in beam angle the best being 1 degrees. You can buy halogen bulbs with a beam angle of 8 degrees. The problem is best solved by using a tightly focused LED. They do make those.

I was in an electronics store yesterday and they had a bunch of Nebo lights on display. I liked the Slyde King 2000. It has the COB side light and a 4X twist zoom main light. I’m not doing a review, but I will warn anyone interested in this light- it has terrible pulse width modulation strobe affect and it has timed step down of all the emitters. It never gets warm because it won’t stay bright enough to heat up. It also requires a proprietary 18650 cell with both positive and negative terminals on the tail end. Also, the battery rattles pretty bad, so it would get irritating if you carry it in a vehicle.
I would love this light but that horrible PWM flicker is obnoxious.

I haven’t noticed the PWM. But yes, most lights will allow the rubber charging covers to come open a bit easily. But how much protection is really needed there? As store brands go, they aren’t terrible.
