Got my Rovyvon A5X after trying out a dozen of other keychain flashlights. It is extremely bright for short bursts and the red light has impressive output. Finally I found a UI that fully prevents accidental activation by requiring a double click to on. So far it is superior to the nitecore tiki in every way.
What I don’t like is the white side lights, imo they are pretty much useless due to the GITD body giving them an ugly green tint, should’ve gone with the blue one instead. A beacon mode instead of the burst strobe would be nice.
I am a sucker for copper lights, and wanted to have my first one with tritium slots. Of course, tritium is stupid expensive now, but I’m hoping by next year I can pick up some vials to outfit this Lumintop LM10. This thing is HEAVY. I knew on paper that 98 grams would have much heft, but it’s a different experience feeling it in your hand. Still, what a substantial piece of metal. I hated the look of it in titanium and stainless… something about copper does it justice.
I believe this one give the most lumens per $, eye estimate around 1,800 and the tint is surprisingly good, no blue or green shift. It also has USB-C charging at 1.6A rate. Build quality is a lot better than I expected for this price, UI is about the worst I’ve seen for an e-switch, but at least has single click on-off and memory.
However the runtime is atrocious even with the 3x integrated 18650, I would guess these are the lowest if the lowest quality cells available. I wil replace them with some 2,800mah powerbank pulls.
Nice going! I’d have done the same, if I didn’t already have the black one. Love that green, also the orange. Just don’t need a duplicate. But it’s a real curiosity of a flashlight with a lot to appreciate. Put a lanyard on it. The handling of it is immensely improved, given how there’s no clip possible.
Xevious, I have just heard from my daughter in Gillete, NJ, that there is a storm in the area. Stay safe.
My wife is going to visit our daughter next month. I am sending some of my spare flashlights to my daughter, including my Convoy L7.
I think it will be more useful for her and family to do some “light safari” in their backyard. The Gillete area is a wooded neighbour with three parks and one river. Putting some colour lens on the L7 will be nice, will not spook the wildlife coming out at night.
But so far I have not found any colour lens that can fit the Convoy L7. The colour lens from Astrolux FT03 are slightly too small. But I am thinking of taping the plastic colour lens to the flashlight head.
Does anyone have a better solution? Maybe I have to look for colour lens in some second-hand camera shops.
