What are you listening right now ?

Yeah that’s the face.

Funny, they look like a younger John Ashton and Ron Palillo.

WOW
They certainly do have the resemblance.

Those are/were very talented hippies. Fagen has a live album coming out soon, I think(?).

"The Ghost of Tom Joad"

Tom Morello and the Musicians of MusiCorps

Here is Tom Morello, accompanied by wounded veterans from MusiCorps, playing his rendition of "The Ghost of Tom Joad." If you look closely, you'll also see Roger Waters and G.E. Smith in the band, but neither is featured in this song.

Tom plays two solos. In the first, he turns off most of his effects, and plays "clean" on a guitar duet with one of the vets. In the second, Morello gets back on his pedals and just plain shreds, playing the solo he played with Bruce Springsteen at the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame 25th Anniversary Concert.

Earlier this year, Morello described creating this arrangement in an entertaining interview with Howard Stern.

"The Ghost of Tom Joad" is a latter-day classic by Bruce Springsteen. Penned in the 1990s, it was inspired both by John Steinbeck's "The Grapes of Wrath" and Woody Guthrie's "The Ballad of Tom Joad." It tells a story set in the modern day about a man who is "searchin' for the ghost of Tom Joad." The powerful third verse paraphrases Steinbeck's "Wherever there's a..." speech from "Grapes."

Rage Against the Machine

Turns out Tom Morello has been playing "Ghost" for a long time, going all the way back to his early days with Rage Against the Machine. Although the version below is quite different from the one above, it is well worth a listen.

These vets are good!

Kudos to MusiCorps, and also to Roger Waters, who organized the event.

Hurricane. Possibly the first recording of Hurricane by Bob Dylan. Never released. Bob Dylan - Hurricane (Take 1) [ORIGINAL BANNED VERSION] - YouTube This is the official version Bob Dylan - Hurricane (Official Audio) - YouTube For many many years Dylan kept all of his stuff off of YouTube but created his own channel 2 or more years ago. And finally here’s a live version from 1975 Bob Dylan - Hurricane 1975 [Live] - YouTube These are all unique in their own right. I would probably start with the official one in the middle. They are all around 10 minutes long so it’ll take you 30 minutes to listen to all of them.
