Sofirn SP10 Pro (AA/14500/Andúril 2) - now available!

Not possible. Sorry, this is a newer generation of AVR chip that uses a newer flashing standard (UPDI instead of ISP).

Is there a possibility to use the pogo pin adapter from that set, at least?

Not that adapter, but another: link. And if all goes well, Sofirn might be able to sell a cheap flashing kit along with the SP10 Pro.

If they can sell a complete flashing kit, including the pogo pin adapter, that will be great!

I reallly wish the FWAA had this driver. Dang. Saw the single emitter version is getting close. This combo would be dreamy IMO. SP10 pro might be the first EDC sized light with side switch that I’ve bought since the SC63w 5yrs ago.

Done.

Will try my best to convince Sofirn in making it happen. SC21 Pro with the 1616 chip will hopefully have the flashings pads, too. So, the more new drivers we get to see in the future, the more worthwhile and economically viable it will be to have a flashing device in place.

Are you able to shed any light on what the SC21 Pro will have over the SC21?

So far, I only know that Sofirn wants to offer SC21 with Andúril 2 and the 1616 chip. I can only guess but most of the specs will probably remain the same.

The most important differences:

  • 1616 MCU, i.e. accurately calibrated voltage and thermal sensing
  • Andúril 2 instead of Sofirn's proprietary UI
  • (option to flash different firmware via flashing pads - yet to be verified)
  • configurable ATR
  • adjustable switch button light (if applicable)

Personally, I would not mind if Sofirn were to increase the tube's inner diameter to fit with 18350 batteries. On a side note, I am not involved in the development of SC21 Pro.

Sofirn confirmed this morning they will try out new colors with SP10 Pro. Personally, I like the purple one (top left) and the matte black (bottom right) most. Silver anodizing is an option for sure if bare aluminum is out of the question because the lockout function would not work. I could imagine that Sofirn can adopt the same purple ano from Wurkkos's FC12.

As a serious flashlight user, not just for walking a dog, i’d say that stepdown from turbo is drastic, too low.

I only hope that HIGH is 300-400LM on Liion and 200-250LM on Nimh

Really like that Matte black, and that top ‘army green’ has got a nice classic feel to it too.

A tan or dark sand colour would be nice.

I frequently ask Sofirn for offering matte anodizing, like Armytek does. It offers much better tactile feedback and looks more appealing from my point of view.

Oh no, if they offer all those colors, I'm gonna be buying a few... If they do the purple like the Wurkkos FC12, I'd have to buy it for sure.

I agree L-P, I love Armyteks finish! The most abuse resistant ano I’ve ever experienced. It weirdly takes on ’ scratches’ that rub off, but I’d have it on every ’ user ’ light I own if I could.

FC12 purple color is a winner, too. They gotta do it.

Matte Ti grey (no blue tint) with black switch and clip is what I’d vote for.

Just to be clear, this was an unofficial Photoshop mockup I posted in the anodizing poll thread. It’s not meant to be representative of the actual colors Sofirn will offer. I did try to match the purple, green, and champagne to the FC12, SC31 Pro, and SP32A respectively.

I don’t mind L-P reposting it but they should make it clear in their post that it’s fan made and not official.

Why not a few more:

Deep red and dark clip/button (probably my ideal), more matte grey, med gray with an hint of bluish like a S2+, desert tan.

But everyone knows what they really want:

I want them all!

Yea, the deep red and rainbow... If they had these colors, this would finally be my light for every room, every car. Unofficially of course

Oooo, I like those grays.
