NIGHTWATCH flashlights

Sorry but is this general info, a display of your lights, or an invitation to buy.

I like the design, but have never seen them in an online shop before.

Are these e-switch versions of the NSX3 and NSX4?

What are the SFQ60 and SFS80 LEDs? Google shows no results.

SFS80 is a Chinese version of xhp35 hi, 3535 footprint 3V led. Probably an interesting possibility if you’re into throwers. 3V instead of 12V, and it can take north of 10A @ ~4V.
It’s actually amazing that we don’t know who makes them, these are good LEDs.

I don’t know about the other one, probably the same company, judging by the SF part.

I reviewed the NI03 with the SFN55.2 LED and it’s amazing…a 3 volt 7070 led that beats the xhp70.2 in throw and jutst about beats a fdirect dr8ven one in output. No boost driver or series cells needed.

I do not know who makes them. Some Chinese LED company. Maybe Latticebright? I haven’t been able to find literature on them either.

ok why are we looking at these
?

There’s a review on 1lumen for the Nightwatch NI03 Valkyrie with the SFN55.2 LED. 6912 lumens and 125 kcd with a 53mm diameter head.

Got the valkyrie yesterday, with sfn55.2

I love the look and feel. Wish they included a holster.

On a white wall, obviously Cool white, only a tiny hint of green and purple in hot spot and very faint purple ring at outer edge.

Compared it to Convoy 3x21a 5000k last night. Could only reach 200m where I was. Obviously the nightwatch heats up faster, but seems to shed heat very well. Bigger hotspot, brighter spill. Lovely beam, so much usable light from an easily hip holstered light.

I hope they come out with a 5000k version. I think it would be my instant favorite and most used flashlight.

Edit - my Valkyrie has a black button, not translucent like OP. I think I prefer that. Also, wondering if anyone knows how to find the full nightwatch line of lights. absolutely in love w/ their designs.

Great! Glad you like the Valkyrie. I really like it, and it’s a fantastic light (just wished it had a true low mode). It throws awesome. On a clear night without much condensation I can see farther than 200 m easy.

As far as I know NightWatch is only sold on Taobao and through Neal. They are a rather obscure company for flashlights, but they make some of the most interesting ones with those mysterious emitters.

Also, the SFN version adds some features the sbt version doesn’t like PD charging and power bank.

I meant to say, I could only SEE 200m, both lights can throw much further!

edit. I agree, it could use a lower mode, but I’ll always have an EDC in addition to this light, it won’t be my only light, so it is a very minor issue to me.

Nightwatch is on my radar considering Lumintop keeps swapping parts to make the light more profitable.

I got all mine from Neal with the new light 15% discount. I have NSX3, NSX4 and NI40 Stalker SBT90. I too LOVE their designs. They are ultra basic lights, but damn it if they don’t take heat dispersal seriously. All their lights focus on it. I feel like I never notice their “high” drop. They are all steady lights. Can’t say enough about them. I honestly feel so satisfied with my collection, especially my Nightwatch’s, but you guys are making it damn near impossible not to pull the damn trigger on one of these with the new emitters, so please…STOP IT.

I agree, wonderful hosts. Ripe for upgrade basically indefinitely. Which means you can wait for the perfect emitter

I’m wishing for a 26800 NI40. Can anybody confirm if the 26800 tube fits it? Also wish the tailcap had HD2010 style relief cuts.

I’ve thought that a maxed out SFT70 would be nice in this host, or an upcoming 50.3HI in NW. Even an SFT40 running 10A would be well suited here IMO. The 90.2 and beyond require more amps than a single battery can consistently deliver. I don’t like lights that require a constantly topped off cell to reach max performance. YMMV.

Another Nightwatch that I wish was still around is the NS22 21700.

If you know Chinese you can probably buy them off taobao, but caveat emptor on that.

My nsx4e needs sft40s. Just a bit to floody for me. I might put relief cuts in the tailcap, with a file. I have on other lights and with a lot of care and a bit of polishing it can look nice.

This is the newest leds specification table of NIGHTWATCH. :smiling_imp:

Once again, the light emitting area isn’t accurate in that table for most of the 3535 and 5050 emitters at least.

Wow. Amazing work! Old Lumens would be proud.

thanks. took hours. I don’t think nsx4e tailcap is large enough to do more than 2 and retain tail stand. We’ll see this winter…
