Thoughts on the Fenix E03R Keychain Flashlight

As I was browsing this light caught my eye:

It is a keychain light from Fenix. It is type-c and it is quite a bit smaller than a Nitecore TIP.

With both white and red light sources it looks even more promising. The only thing I am a bit concerned about is the emitter. In the description it says “MATCH CA18 white light LED and Everlight 2835 red light LED”. I am planning to swap the emitter if I end up getting it, but I don’t seem to find information about the white LED (footprint, output etc). What do you guys think about this light?

E03R is not DIY friendly model for upgrade or repair. You have to pry open the TIR in order to access the inner components.

Quick test:

  • Manufacturer's specs: 260lm (white); 4lm (red)
  • Our measurements: 229lm; 6lm
  • You can continue to use E03R while charging at low-medium level.

That’s a pity. But the stock light is pretty good at that price anyways. And thank you for organizing tons of groupbuys!

UI seems poorly thought out. I’d reprogram it if it were set up for that.

Added: the Surefire Sidekick is about the same price, except they sell an add-on pocket clip as a $10 accessory, lol. I haven’t tried to compare the two lights.
