Which movie did you watch lastֻ

Someone should crucify him on the Tree Of Woe.

That might be controversial—seems the ladies love Jason Mamoa. :stuck_out_tongue:

Just for the record, I do own both of the original Conan movies. I know what’s best in life!

Double header this past weekend:

Beckett on Friday and A Quiet Place 2 on Saturday.

IMO, one can skip Beckett, but if you saw AQP, then watch AQP2, however it wasn’t as good.

Chris

I saw Slaughterhouse-Five (1972).

I read the book twice in the 1990's.

It's one of the best books I have ever read, and the only book I have read twice.

The movie, on the other hand, is terrible.

The acting is decent, and the music okay.

The problem is that the movie is slow, and not entertaining.

What a waste.

Doctor Strange (2016)

Re-watched this last night. I kept noticing that a recurring part of the soundtrack sounded like the Star Trek theme with some tweaking. Sure enough, Michael Giacchino did the score for both movies. It’s a bit distracting because I like the Star Trek (2009) theme and the starting and stopping was giving me the musical equivalent of blue balls.

Still, Doctor Strange is not a bad Marvel movie. The acting is stellar and the casting is good. Not much complexity in the plot or character motivations but it has enough spectacle to make up for it if you are in the mood.

100% agree about the Zack Snyder Justice League. I wasn’t prepared for the whole 4:3 thing and I stopped it almost immediatly thinking I’d screwed up somehow and had the wrong version until I figured out it was on purpose. Since I’d seen the 2017 version, I noticed the scenes that were cropped and it just pissed me off, but otherwise it was 100% better…except for the length, but I’m not sure how it could’ve been shortened (maybe 30 mins or so…).

The ending “trailer” also threw me since I wasn’t prepared for it and I had to watch it twice before I figured out wtf was going on. What If… :stuck_out_tongue: (I gotta watch that too…)

I’m saving Quiet Place 2, Conjuring 2, Reminisence, Demonic, and a bunch of other movies up for vacation I’m going on starting tomorrow. Wife forbade me from watching anything she wanted to see until then  .

Will let you guys know…

Searching Amazon last night I found an oldie but a quite good one to revisit

Searching For Bobby Fischer

raccoon city…i read it twice, too.
saw the movie twice, too.

S-5 was an easy book and movie
to follow for me, and i enjoyed both
as a straight time-travel type adventure,
however, i came to realize that PTSD
was the driving force behind most
of that adventure, not time-travel.

regardless, i do recommend the movie
as well as the book for those who do not
know about Vonnegut, Jr.

“PIG” I thought it was pretty good —— It reminded me of Leaving Las Vegas —— Just he wasn’t an Alcoholic

Predator (1987)

Classic sci-fi/action combo and quintessential Arnold movie. Think I’m gonna upgrade to the 4k trilogy. Yea that’s right TRILOGY. That abomination from 2018 doesn’t deserve space on my self.

I saw The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021).

It's pretty good.

It's about as good as the other two Conjuring movies.

The acting is very good for a horror film.

The music is great.

The movie is not boring.

I liked it.

Predators (2010)

I enjoy this movie. I’m not sure what the general consensus is among the hardcore Predator fans but for me this is a very enjoyable action movie. My only real criticism is that there could have been more resolution at the end. And the next movie should have picked up where this one left off.

I think I saw one of these movies and liked it. I should really get caught up.

Sweet Girl

The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard.
Brainless plot and constant action. What more do you need other than a bowl of popcorn?!
A good time was had by all.
If you are offended by “blue” language. Run away.
Possibly the highest cuss word count movie of all time.
All th Best,
Jeff

According to IMDb, 127 uses of the f-word.

That's a lot, but I've seen movies that top that.

Is it that bad ?!?

I really like Jason. Also like the kid Isabela Moner (Now Merced). Wonder why she changed her name…

The White Disease.
review quote:
Made in 1937 and based off a play, The White Disease (or Skeleton on Horseback, which I personally prefer)
is doubly morbid, featuring both a fascist leadership whipping up a pro-war sentimentality and a pandemic
which originated in China (it’s also given a Chinese name). Yeah, you read right.
The White Disease is basically a pandemic film hardly anyone’s heard of or seen.

Vivarium

I’m a sucker for the genre and it feels like I was a kid when I last saw a movie with the same vibe.

Like a scary movie, without any blood and grossness, but filled with bad and strange vibes. 4/5

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0028632/

Only 305 IMDb ratings...

Yep, hardly anyone has heard of or seen it.

Always a need for good Pronouns/Adjectives/Verbs/Nouns :person_facepalming:
