Armenian folk-metal!
I first learned of this band when Ian Anderson collaborated with them around the time of this release.
Lead singer Zara Gevorgyan does a fantastic job with dynamics. She can really belt when she wants to, but just as good are the delicate, high-speed runs she sings in harmony over the lead guitar. Listen for them near the beginning, around the 30-second mark.
Man. lol. I heard that song a thousand times growing up but I didn’t have a clue about him, or the stage show, until a few years ago. What a character, and he never really gave up the weirdness! I had probably that same link of the original saved but it’s dead now. And seven years later in full technicolor, not synched. I read about his fire accidents and all the helpers. He was before his time in all this…I wonder if Alice Cooper and Kiss and a lot of the early punk and black metal bands were influenced by him in the 70s.
