【convoy】H4 and B35AM options are updated

That is just a placeholder. When they are ready Simon will let us know.

We’re gonna need the info on that T3. Is that using the new 17mm 12 group AA/14500 driver?

Could we perhaps come up with a different config list of mode groups for Convoy’s 12 group firmware, most of it is groups no one would use.

I’d especially love that 50% level in with the 100, sure it may not be a big visual difference, but it allows for longer runtime and longer bursts than 100

Also each blink in config represents each group, it’s way too slow as it is currently

How I would love a group where the low, med, high could be configured by the user. Like a ramping menu to set the brightness.

For this new T2 driver I’d like to keep a real 0.1% mode (sometimes it seems bit higher in my S2 + driver)which is useful indoors and close spaces

Personally I think the 0.1, 1, 10, 35, 100% spacing works well. 35% on the 5A versions is approximately where the lights balance due to thermal limiting, so I set it on 35% and know that the brightness will be relatively stable for night photography. The only improvement I would like to see is a constant frequency strobe instead of the terrible alternating/two frequency strobe.

I guess it depends on what it’s being used for. I’m a dealer and stock the C8+, L21A & L21B for hunting, so 50% allowing a longer duration is far better than a short burst on 100. For example the 5A driver paired with the NM1 gets 3 minutes at 100, where 50% gets quite a decent amount longer and when you’re out searching for animals you need the extra range than what 35% provides.

At the moment I’ve discussed with Simon to get the SST40 ramping firmware on the Osram red model. The 100% level is too bright for closer range and it’s spooking the animals, and 20% is far too dim to be useful. Having adjustable levels is going to be awesome. Currently the 100% level is 280 lumens and the 20% level is only 20 lumens, so it’ll be great to have access to everything in between.

I get that the 35% suits general use, but it has been brought up quite a few times for others also. It’s not always about the maintained temperature, it’s also about runtime

Gents, wouldn't be better if you could set each level of output to your own liking?

We have such a driver already in Simons store, now all it needs is a bit tuning and that's it.

Ramping driver just calls for v.2 upgrade and to be imported in aa/liion, boost and buck options that Simon has.

Yes, but it would be great if it was an additional UI on the 12 mode groups so people have a choice as to what they prefer. That would be the ideal driver I reckon.

Have 3 levels that are user configurable, I reckon that would be quite popular.

Some improvements can be made on the modes on the 12 group driver, but what i really wish for is battery check with 4 or 5 quick half clicks. I have 4 of these installed and always use group 5 no memory. Temperature step down should be able to be disabled or adjusted.

Ramping driver is quite nice for “tactical” use even with reverse switch. It can be improved with two way ramping and 4-5 click special mode access.

Temp cannot be adjusted when most of the drivers rely on the NTC. Temp can be disabled by removing it

I don’t know how certain it’s measure beam rebounce from wood color table but still quality emitter

the reflector of M21E and C8 are the same

yes

Cool. I’m gonna need one of each color and like 5 of those drivers for other AA sized lights I have sitting around.

Simon, do you run the “Dongguan Kangwoyi Electronic Co.,Ltd” store on Amazon US or is that a reseller? Thank you.

It’s my company.

The pronunciation of “Kangwoyi” in Chinese is similar to the English word “convoy”.

Hi Simon,

Curious and will be nice to know…

I thought Chinese name for Convoy is 毛裤?

毛裤 is my nickname

:+1: :+1:

googling 毛裤 turns up some interesting images
