Acebeam X50 is UNIQUE !! We do never compare other brands. We have been working hard and serious-minded for making great products.
This is my opinion, but Acebeam X45 is better choice!
Yes, I do agree with you. However X45 was discontinued, and X70 is discontinued too.
We have been working hard to make more excellent products continously.
Average reading on my CW is around 630 meter distance.
But if you agree with the above opinion, this logically leads to the conclusion, that you downgraded the product this time for exactly double price. Or it was a typo?
Because FOURTY THOUSANDS LUMENS!

I came here because I was very interested in this light. Unfortunately, the proprietary, built-in, battery pack is a deal breaker for me. I’ve been serious in this hobby for 20 years and I have a collection of flashlight “paperweights” with built in, or proprietary battery packs, that no longer work… and the packs can’t be replaced. I’ve learned my lesson.
If this were a 4 x 21700, user replaceable battery pack/tube, I’d purchase one.
I’d also like to see an option for a smooth reflector, as the ones in the pictures seem to be heavily orange-peeled, which greatly smooths the beam of course, but doesn’t help in the throw department.
Lastly, I’d like to see a SBT-90 variant. Yes, I know it would be more expensive but it would also easily meet and exceed the 800m throw claim, which it certainly doesn’t do now, based on the several different reports I’ve read. Based on the current formula, I didn’t really expect it to.
Oh well, perhaps in the future…
SFN55.2 is like a domeless XHP70.2. Would be great for increasing throw.

Perhaps fewer lumens without the dome, I’m guessing? I would imagine Cree accounted for tint shifts without the dome on the SFN55.2.

I got mine today. It compares favorably with the X45. More lumens in the form of a wider beam, both of which are provided by more emitters in a smaller head diameter with smaller reflector wells with more overlap. I selected 5000K neutral white. Nice tint, and oodles of very wide, extremely bright flood. Flood is this lights' primary forte; the amount of throw that it has is by sheer dint of the eight powerful emitters. Therefore, it has a massive amount of the former, and the expected amount of the latter, which is sufficient for its designed purpose.
For longer run time and less heat generation, lower modes can be selected.
I started out as a flood guy, and only later got into dedicated throwers, such as K70 and K75; and to power throwers, such as X65. This light very much and very happily satisfies my primal, deep seated flood urges. Also, the X50 is tops at brightly illuminating the widest area, for its size classification. Not too big, and not too small. I think that the X50 is currently the most powerful light in its size class, which also happens to be a very useful size classification.
Dear Richbuff, what are your thoughts on the Imalent MS18? They have tightened up their distribution (confining official sales eligible for Warranty to their own website sales). I am asking because I have owned the DX80, and in the wild outdoors, I shot Turbo one in each hand. It was underwhelming! I am thinking the MS18 would be better? Have you had any experience with it? They are talking about 1350 meters of throw. A MS18 one in each hand… Hehe
Dear The 4ds9, I have 50 high performance lights, and I love to share my subjective thoughts on them. I have the MS18. It is a huge flooder, and it fully satisfies my huge flooder urges. I see the X50 as size in between the MS03 and the MS18.
My first "two, one in each hand" light was the supremely awesome Acebeam X65, back in March 2017. At that time, I was one of the very few people on earth that was at the highest peak of thrilling led flashlight performance.
Several times, I emailed Acebeam to request that they release a very large multiple SBT90.2 light. So far, nada. Same with Imalent. No very large multiple SBT90.2 light from them nor Olight nor Fenix. So I got two from Lumintop and another two from Haikelite. No one is going to deprive me of having four very large multiple SBT90.2 lights.
Imalent: One MS18 in one hand and one R90TS in the other hand is a thrill that I can enjoy.
Acebeam: I still wait for the X65GT.
I have more than a few favorite manufacturers. I am a fan of this one, that one, and the other one, and a few others, too.

Great, thank you! If its quality is good enough to belong in your rotation, then I will consider spending the big bucks and purchase one for each hand. 
What would be cool to see from Acebeam some day (not that I’d be able to afford them):
- Throwier version of the X50, about the same size. Imalent had the 1000m R60C as a throwy version of the MS06. The X50 is a clear upgrade to the X80-GT but doesn’t throw particularly far (even the X45 isn’t especially throwy). Maybe SST70, like the Imalent or triple SBT90.2, like a mini Haikelite HK90.
- Something over 100,000 lumens. The MS18 has been undefeated for 2 years now. An X70-GT with the central LED switched for a few XHP70.2 would give a few more lumens but my guess is that to get over 100,000 would need a bigger head than the X70.
- Floody version of the X10 with the most lumens from a single 21700 possible. Like a single cell quad XHP70.2 X45. Somewhere between the Imalent MS03 and MS06. Maybe Acebeam could beat 15,000 lumens at turn on with the right cell.
- X65GT, as you said Rich. Ideally outperforming GT94 and R90TS.
I just received mine yesterday... Wow, what a light.
I got the Imalent R60C and I must say it is also not close to the 1000 meter advertised throw.
